Nikon D70 not working. Won't take pictures
I got a Nikon D70 DSLR from a stolen goods auction. I was so excited and went around the house focusing it and changing the settings… We didn't have a memory card for it at that point. We got one today and clicking the shutter button does nothing. Though, when it's clicked, on the top screen a displayed 56y or 5 (y maybe? It looks like an uncompleted y or uncompleted 5… ) turns to RO or 0 and then the y or 5 character.
So… I have no idea why it's doing that and I've tried googling, but all I can find are posts about the flash not working. And, maybe that has something to do with it… But I don't know.

Recommendations for Nikon film SLR?
I basically broke my previous one and now I'm looking for a new one to buy. All my kit/lenses is made by Nikon and so I'm looking for a nikon one. I want a manual one but the auto ones seem to be cheaper. I was looking at the nikon f65 but I own a Nikon d60 and apparently they are very similar. I just want an idea of what kind of models I can get and take in mind I'm pretty much beginner level and I'm not made of money (so around £100?)

In your opinion, are Nikon or Canon cameras better?
I have saved up money for a new camera, and I can't decide if I want a Nikon D90 or a Canon Rebel T1i. So I would just like your opinions on these, and how do they compare in terms of ease of use? I need something I can figure out pretty quick if I don't know something when I get it. And if you have any pictures you have taken with either camera, that would be great also. If you have better suggestions, I would like to stay in the 700-900 price range for body only.

How to mount multiple accessories (Zoom H1 + Rode VideoMic) unto an HDSLR?
I'm shooting with a Nikon D5000 and am using a Zoom H1 in a dual-sound setup and I'm looking into purchasing a Rode VideoMic or maybe even the VideoMic Pro, but my main concern is how to mount both devices, because I would be plugging the shotgun into the H1 and therefore, need both devices. However, I want to maintain as low of a profile, minimal of a look, and generally, compact of a package as possible. I've looked into using the J-Rod J-Cube, but am turned off solely by its size, as it looks quite big on even the 7D and remember, I'm using a D5000. I've also considered using a Rycote Hot Shoe Extension Bar, but I thought that would look a bit cumbersome with two devices on it. I've looked into various side brackets and have actually tried one with the H1 on it, but it's quite big and holds it pretty far away from the camera and it looks really awkward. So, I want to know if maybe there's an alternative to the J-Cube that is smaller and looks nicer on a smaller body, or any other solutions to mounting both devices while keeping the package compact in appearance and just everything close together.
Also, I'm wondering if I were to use any of these solutions, if placing the shotgun on camera, but off-center, would affect the sound pickup, as in, if the VideoMic or VideoMic Pro are directional where sliding the microphone a few inches to the side on an extension bar away from directly above the lens would start to cut off the sound of the subject, or if I were to place the mic directly next to the lens by use of a side bracket with the hot shoe mount parallel to the tripod thread of the camera, would it again, start to cut off the sound of the subject. I'm not so concerned about the mics picking up any camera or handling noise.

Constructive Critisism please?
On my photography.
This is my first time owning a DSLR and I've had it for about a month and a half now, maybe two months. It's a Nikon D3100

I'm looking for a piece of equipment compatible with a Nikon D60?
I'm looking for a piece of equipment that is compatible with a Nikon D60 that will allow me to shoot on the natural light setting but not have my photos come out blurry OR something that will allow me to shoot using flash/auto but produce natural light results.
Also, a question within a question, is there any way to have my photos come out extremely similar to how they look in the viewfinder? I find that when I take a photo, it looks great through the viewfinder but is distorted (but still nice) when I browse through my gallery.
Help/comments/ and recommendations are greatly appreciated.
