How to capture motion AND very close up on DSLR?
I want to take a photo of my daughter blowing a dandelion seed head and catch the seed pods as they float through the air. I have taken a few but the motion has been blurred. I would like to have the detail that macro gives me but realise I probably need the sports setting.
I amgoing to try in a while with the sports setting but wondered if anyone had any ideas of how else I could achieve what I want, or close to it?
I don't want to go into manual settings just now as I'm still getting to grips with the cameras pre sets and don't want to confuse myself!
I have a Nikon D5000 with kit lens. I'm getting a new 75-300 lens next month. Will that lens help me with this desired photo?

Nikon D3100 - Peleng Fisheye vs Sigma Wide-angle?
I've got a D3100 which I'm planning on getting a new lens for. Having had it for a while, I know all of the functions inside out, now only using Manual, Aperture, and Shutter priority - I'm a fairly decent enthusiast is what I'm saying really. Sometime I plan to upgrade my camera, but I don't think my parents would appreciate me selling my camera AND forking out more money for a new one, I'll have to wait a few more years for that…
At the moment I have the kit lens (18-55 vr), the 35mm f1.8, and the 55-300 f4.5-5.6. I wasn't planning on getting a new lens but I have another trip coming up soon (with every holiday get a new lens is my motto!). With about £300 ($450) to spend, what do you recommend for a trip to Venice or Rome, to take architectural pics. I'm thinking…
Sigma 10-20mm f4-5.6
Pros: autofocus, super wide angle
Cons: I have a program that will stitch my 18mm shots to make a wider shot so may not be necessary and apparently the lens is cheaply made
Or the…
Peleng 8mm fisheye
Pros: I've always wanted a fisheye, crazy effect, solidly made (apparently), really wide (so could potentially remove the bulge and use as a wide angle), cheaper so I could buy the SB-400 too
Cons: manual focus, vignetting, quality of individual lenses varies massively (apparently), and is it a bit of a novelty effect?
Before you ask the Nikon 10.5mm fisheye and Nikon 10-24mm wide angle are out of my price range!
Other recommendations welcome and thanks in advance!

How to tell if you have a crop sensor on your camera?
I own a nikon D90. I was watching some viedos and the people are talking about crop sensors and how it can change numbers because you have to times by something or rather. ARGH! Anyways i was wondering if anyone can explain to me, how can you tell if you have a ful frame sensor or a crop frame sensor, and which one is better and why would you want to go for a full or a crop.

What would be a good lens for Nikon D7000?
I wanted to get the body and the lens separately so I did. I'm looking for a lens that allows me to take pictures of children, occasional travel and need the ability to take quick pictures and want to use features such as image stabilization or background blur or built in motor.
I have heard that kit lens that comes with D7000 is really bad, so just wanted to get something separately without spending a lot.
Any suggestions?
Any place where I can find Chronology of Nikon lens releases?

How to turn on the beep sound for the nikon D5000 when it is in manual focus?
I have a nikon and i love it but it's very hard to use the manual focus because the camera does not beep at me when it is in focus. I have heard and seen other cameras that have this feature just i don't know how to turn it on for my camera. If there's any other way to know if the image is in focus please let me know.

What would be a good Macro lens for the Nikon d3100, at a reasonable price?
What would be a good Macro lens for the Nikon d3100, at a reasonable price?

I'm looking to get into serious photography. I've been fooling around for a while, but I'm looking to invest in a decent camera. My friend has a d40 and he says it's a decent camera. But I've heard great things about the d3100. I just want to know the pros and cons and if the d3100 is worth the extra amount of money.
