I'm thinking of getting the D3100 as my first DSLR and I was wondering if I should just get the body and focus on a good lens? Or just get the kit and the 18-55mm lens should be enough? I'd be shooting landscapes/portraits. Nothing extreme

Will a Full frame Lens work on a APS-C sensor?
I have Nikon D3000 with kit lens (APS-C format sensor) and I'm having few questions
(1) if I can attach a full frame Nikon AF NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8D Lens to it and will it work
(2) Even if it works what will the difference in the image quality and its drawbacks on using a Full frame lens to a DX format sensor
(3) Should I go for this lens.
(4) is it Value for Money
(5) How to read the markings on the mentioned lens even if i get the chance to use it

I'm looking for a good ring flash the only prob i don't have a flash at all so is this a good one i can't find any pictures that where taken by it though so i can't comapare.
