I was wondering if anybody can help me. I'm 18 years old and very much into my photography and shoot a variety of subjects with my Nikon D90. I have been asked to shoot a christening in a fortnights time for a friend of a friend and don't know where to start! I've never done anything like this before!
I was wondering if anybody had any tips on the types of shot the parents would like? B/W or colour? Can you actually take photos during the service etc? I've been advised to charge £10-£15 an hour too, does this sound about right?
Will this lens work with my Nikon?
I have a Nikon D5000 and I was wondering if this lens would work with my camera?

I'm buying a Nikon D40 from a pawn shop since they stopped selling them around 2008 or 2009 in stores - this is actually my first time buying a Digital SLR camera & working with Nikon. I actually wanna know how good is the D40 & w/ 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AF-S DX VR Nikkor Zoom Lens.
The camera is beautiful but, I want to know if it's actually a great camera for photoshoots & motion photography.

Help figuring out how to adjust aperture on a Nikon D40 body with a AF-S lens?
I'm EXTREMELY new to using advanced cameras. I just got this used Nikon D40 today and it came with a AF-S lens. Now, in the manual it says that with this type of lens you can adjust the aperture and shutter speed, but I can't figure out how and I can't find it in any of the manuals or online. Help please?
Added (1). Yes I DID read the entire manual for my CAMERA. I don't have an manual for the lens.
What's wrong with my nikon? How much does a 8g memory card cost for it?
I have a nikon D3100 and like out of the blue my mom grabed my cam to take a photo and a little green light came up i took it too look why and i turned it off turned it back on then it deleted about 100 of my photos. Then it said my memory card might be damaged and i needed a new one. So i'm guessing thats what's wrong with it? I'm not sure though because it doesn't turn off and freezes now since it said that about the memory card. But i wanted to know how much it cost for a 8g memory card for my nikon?

And with these also is Nikkor AF 70-300mm lens. Did I get a good match of lens? I know there's a gap between 55 and 75.Is there anything I missed from this gap? And moreover, what is the difference between AF and AF-S lenses?
Flash photography at the Comcast center in Mansfield MA?
I'm going to the blink 182/ My Chemical Romance concert at the Comcast center on August 9th and from the reviews I've read they're extremely strict about a lot of things. But I've seen videos from concerts at the Comcast center on youtube, so do you have to sneak them? I plan on taking a couple videos as keepsakes and of course I want to take pictures with the friend I'm going with.
Also, the camera I do have is a Nikon D5000, which is pretty bulky and I've been told they probably won't let me in without a press pass
