Canon Rebel T3 or Nikon D3100?
So i'm going to purchase my first camera and i don't know squat. I have been asking around and have narrowed down my choices to these last two.
Canon Rebel T3

Nikon D3100
http://www.amazon.com/...003ZYF3LO/
So which is better? I know the Nikon has 14.2 MP while the Canon only has 12.2MP, but i also know that megapixels isn't everything. Also should i buy the body only?
For example amazon is also selling the canon rebel T3 Body only which is around $420 should i invest on a better lense?
Also i've been looking at a Canon T3i which is around 2 years old since it came out in 2009,. But would dat be a better choice?
Lastly i will be using this camera for beginning photography. I'm taking a photography class an i'm a total beginner that is the reason i don't want to invest alot on a camera.

How large of a photo could I print with a Nikon D50?
A friend of mine at school wants a picture of her and her roommates done so they can hang it in their apartment. I currently have a Nikon D50, but have never even dabbled in shooting portraits. What settings should I be using to shoot this, and how large could this portrait be printed without losing its quality? They are going for bigger is better.

I have a Nikon d3100, and the video is quite dark. How can I fix this?
When recording video, i have changed the aperture in an attempt to fix this problem (which did not help), and the ISO is decided only by the camera. When zoomed out to 18mm on an 18-55 lens, it improves only slightly. Even recording in my bedroom which is adequately bright, it is hard to make out objects because of the lack of exposure. Are there any settings I may have missed, or is there an effective way to fix this problem?

I'm looking for a DSLR camera to buy.not too pricey. I like nikon and canon?
I've heard that the Nikon d3100 is good. What would you guys suggest as good brands/ specific models? I just want a nice camera that will last a long time and I know a lot of people with DSLR's that absolutely love them.

Aperture error on D80 with Nikkor micro 60 mm?
I have a D80 camera. I usually used my Nikkor 28mm with minimum apperature on the lens at 22. When using this lens, I have no problem. Recently I acquired a Nikkor micro 60mm. When attached this lens I get the fEE error on my camera even though I set the lens aperture at it's minimum (32). I can't use this at any setting whether is auto, aperture priority or manual. Can anyone tell me if it is because of my lens or some camera setting? Thanks
Added (1). The Nikkor 60micro DOES have aperture lock. I also tried cleaning the metal contact on the lens. No help, does that mean the lens is malfunctioning?

I'm new to 'proper' photography, and am wondering what to buy for my first DSLR. I want to spend a maximum of £350.
I'm interested in going into a photography career. I'm 16, living in the UK. I'm just about to start my AS Levels, but if I'm still interested in photography, I will do a course at my local college.
I'm looking at getting either the Nikon D3000, Canon 1000d, Canon 1100d (If I can afford it!) or Canon 450d.
What should I get? Or is there a different one I should get for a similar price?

Nikon 35mm f/1.8G or Nikon 50mm f/1.8G on a Nikon d3100?
I'm looking into buying a prime lens, but stuck between these two, my D3100 having a DX format sensor, the 50mm becomes a 75mm, that's to long of a lens for the tight situations I work in, your thoughts and recommendation?

Nikon d3100 third party lens compatibility?
I'm thinking of getting a D3100 body and pairing it up with some kind of general purpose 18-200 or whatever… It's been a while since I've been into photography and my knowledge about these new digital camera's is somewhat limited. As far as I know the Nikon D3100 requires lenses with their own AF motors as it does not have one in the camera body. Do the third party lens makers like Sigma make them for this camera, with their own motors?
