How to repair abnormal behavior of Auto focus in my Nikon D50?

My Nikon D50's auto focus is behaving abnormally for the last few days. It gives the focus beep, even though the image is not actually focused. Moreover, even in broad daylight, it is taking a lot of time to focus, and I have to half-press the shutter multiple times to focus the image properly. I have tried out a lot of ways of mending the problem, starting from reseting the menu, to cleaning the lens and camera body contacts.

I own a Nikon D7000. I'm looking into buying the Nikon AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.4G Autofocus Lens for portraits and also for video. Has anyone had any experience with videoing with this lens?

My Nikon D3000 won't auto focus anymore?

I've tried holding the shutter button down halfway and everything. Yes, it is a AF-S lens. I've even restarted my camera to the factory setting. Every time the lens are on auto, and I press the shutter button, halfway and all way, it'll keep trying to focus. But when it focuses, it goes from really blurry, to still blurry, to perfect, to blurry again. How do I fix this? Yes, my lens are on correctly.

Nikon D90 AF issue, any

The AF will attempt to focus and blink (meaning its ready and in focus). However, randomly, the viewfinder isn't actually focused, and while the AF says it's in focus, it's actually extremely blurry. It happens every now and then but I want to be sure my camera is OK. I've taken very good care of my camera and it has never been dropped or anything like that. What could cause that?

Added (1). Additionally it will take a blurry photo. It seems to really "think" it's in complete focus. Again this doesn't happen much, but I'm just neurotic! Lol.

Added (2). No, the photo when I actually take it, isn't in focus after it's been taken. The photo is completely blurry.

Which DSLR camera brand is best?

Ok so I'm a beginner in photography, and I have a Fujifilm finepixs s2950 and soon I'm gonna work and get at least $1, 000 and was hopping to buy a Nikon D5100 but someone told me that Nikon wasn't a very good brand. I was also looking at canon's camera but can't see one I like and know much about. Also looked at Sony's but don't know if there good. Can you tell which camera brand is better? Which camera under $1, 000 is best?

Nikon 35mm vs 50mm lens for portraits?

I'm 18 and just starting out in photography. I have a Nikon D3100 and am going to take senior pictures for people, because I have a natural ability for that kind of stuff. I had called my local camera store and had them order me the Nikon 35mm 1.8f lens, but was reading online that a lot of people are saying that the 50mm is better? I've seen the 50mm 1.8f retail for $150 and the 50mm 1.4f, for a little more. Around $350.
Can I get some input on what you think is the best for portrait photography? Such as senior pictures? I do have the 18-55 kit lens and a 55-200, but I liked the idea of the different style of lens.

Nikon D5100 shutter problem, shutter too slow?

Hi, I have the d5100, and I'm starting to think that it has a problem with the shutter… Or I have a problem! Lol
It seams that no matter what lens I use, and no matter now fast of a shutter speed I select, you can clearly hear the shutter opens and closes with long time between the two clicks. I'm not sure if this will make any sense, but I'm trying my best to describe the issue… I'm not a pro, but I do a lot of product photography for my Etsy shop. When I use my camera for something else, that is to take photos of my kids. They move fast. My camera's shutter doesn't seem to be fast enough. Even when there's lots of natural light, it still sounds like the shutter gets stuck for few seconds and then you can hear it close. I have watched many videos on youtube of newborn photographers taking pictures, and because it is a quiet environment, you can clearly heartheire shutters, and it sounds like they are closing fast… I got my Nikon last summer, I have the kit lens, a 50mm Nikkor prime lense and a 80-200mm zoom lense. May be I'm doind something wrong. All my kids photos are one big blur…
Help! Any expert photographers out there, please advise?
