My nikon D3000 camera won't work on auto- focus?

When i set the lens to auto focus it will focus but it won't take a photo? But it works fine on manual focus. Can you please tell me what's wrong with my camera?

Whenever i take a picture, it flashes, but the flash doesn't pop up. It doesn't matter which setting it's on - it still happens. The only way i can get the flash up is pulling it up with my fingernail. And when i do. The flash smokes and smells like burning rubber

I haVe a Nikon D80, and a Nikon SB-910 speedlight. I have a Phottix Strato II Flash trigger.

I was wondering, since I started to love strobist works, my Phottix Starto II are a set of Receiver and Transmitter only. And what if I want to add another flash to my strobist work, I was wondering what flashes in the photography market (even if not Nikon) that will trigger in sync just buy my SB-910 on my Phottix Strato II. I can't buy a new set of Phottix Strato II because they arent trans-receivers, again, its a Receiver and Transmitter only.

Note: I can't use Nikon CLS, because my pop-up flash is broken.

Why Nikon D40's Battery drains out very soon if it is inside the camera?

I was having a good time with my Nikon D40. Earlier days, if I charged the battery and put in the camera and left the camera unused (even the camera is on/off) it would not be completely drained even after a few days. But nowadays if do the same (charging the battery full, keeping it inside camera, leaving it) after one day the battery would be completely drained out! So now I'm keeping the battery separate. But I just need to know what caused the change.

Nikon 18-55mm lens-Should the zoom dial feel like it has notches in it?

I recently bought a Nikon D3100, It came standard with the 18-55mm VR lens. I noticed as I use the zoom dial, it feels like it has notches in it or something. It's not completely smooth all the way across… Is this normal? Should I send it back for a replacement?

Need a new lens for my Nikon D60?

I'm looking for a new lens for my Nikon D60.

I have never bought a lens for it before, I have simply been using the lens it came with. (AF-5 Nikkor 18-55 mm 1:3.5-5.6 G).

I'm looking for something with a better zoom (this one barely allows me to zoom in on my subject) as well as an improved picture quality.

Any suggestions would be welcomed. Preferably something under 200$, and available on a reliable website.

Nikon software similar to Canon?

I always had trouble with shooting video with my Nikon D3100, because I can't see myself while recording. I found out that Canon users get a software that allows them to see what's on the camera screen on the computer screen, and they can focus over the computer and all that stuff.
So I wanted to know is there any similar software for Nikon?
