What DSLR to upgrade to?

I shoot with both Canon and Nikon DSLRs and currently at the moment I have the Nikon D5000 and I'm looking to upgrade in the late summer, out of the four I have chosen which one is ideal for me.

I take pictures of moving subjects, so I'm looking for something with faster continuous speed and great image quality.

Canon 600D
Canon 60D
Nikon D5100 or the
Nikon D7000

Lorenzo

Added (1). Nikon D5000 with 18-105 VR lens, if upgrading lenses is more ideal than DSLRs then would a high quality lens be more appropriate than the one that I've already got.

What camera lens would be best for zoom?

I would like to buy a new lens for my camera (Nikon D40) which can zoom far to take pictures of birds/nature.

I'm not a professional photographer I just do a bit now and then for fun but I know nothing about the different lens types.

What would these lens types be best used for?
75-300mm
100-400mm
500-1, 000mm

Settings for d5100 to take newborn photos that look professional?

I have a Nikon d5100 and I just had a baby a week ago what I'm wondering… Anyone with a 5100 know settings I can use to photograph my babygirl and it look professional? My camera takes great pictures but they are missing something that gives them that professional look.a lady at the hospital took some photos of her and they looked great her camera was not near a good as mine but yet her photos turned out better and I took the exact same shots as she did. I'm trying to narrow it down if it's my camera settings or maybe lighting… I can't really afford to have my daughters pictures made at the moment so I was wanting to take some that looked "professional" but i'm just not satisfied with the results I'm getting. If anyone uses the same camera could give me tips on some settings I could try out. I would appreciate it! Usually I use auto mode in outside lighting and it works ok but inside I don't get very good shots.

Added (1). Thanks.obviously I know I need to learn my camera but I just got it and just had her so I was thinking if I just had a basic setting example I could go from there.I'm not really the type of person who can just read something and know what they are talking about but if someone were to teach me or show me so to speak then I can do it. And with a toddler and newborn there isn't much time for me to sit down and read and well when there will be time. She won't be a newborn any more… I don't have anyone around who knows anything about photography that is why I asked on here.

I dropped my Nikon d3100, can someone diagnose the issue?

I dropped my Nikon d3100 accidentally, must have been 2 feet from the ground.
When I try to take a picture it comes up with a black "box" in front of the photo.
I can only see a sliver of the photo across the top!
When I take off my lenses and try to take a picture, the bottom left mirror clip seems to have broken and the mirror pops out of place.

I know it's obviously broken but does anyone know what happened and can explain it to me in detail? Mirror got knocked out of place?

How to make video sharp?

I have a Nikon D7000 with a standard 18-105mm lens I bought with the camera. I've tested and tried editing in Photoshop Elements video editor but can't seem to get the sharpness and crispness that I want. I've tried filming with all the settings down and turning up in the editor but I can't seem to get it. I still get that blurness and lack of detail. Is it my lens? Do I need to get a good lens for Clear Crisp video?

Your thoughts/tips/advice on focus stacking? Best intro web reference to focus stacking?

I have a Nikon D5100 and when I take close-ups I often wish more of the subject to be in focus.

I have heard of "focus stacking" -- is it complex or difficult?

Can it be done in camera?

If software is needed, is there any free, or free trial software I can use to try out focus stacking?

If the subject is moving, is there a way to combine subject tracking and focus stacking?

Can you look at a finished photo and tell whether it is the result of "focus stacking"?
