What do you want for Christmas?

What things do you want for Christmas? I need some ideas, my mom keeps asking me, but I don't know what I want. She knows that I've wanted a Nikon D3100 since it came out but it's too expensive. Can you give me any ideas? Thanks!
(I'm a 16 year old girl if that helps.)

Amateur Photography.a little

I'm by NO means a professional photographer, or even CLOSE. I've had zero training. No classes, no one to teach me, not even a "Nikon D40 for Dummies". I'm majoring in Photojourn. And like trying photography (trying is the key word here), but I've never had an actual photographer look at any of my photos and critique them.

I have a Nikon D40. I use either an 18-55mm or a 70-300mm.

These photos are linked from Facebook, so they're lower-quality (FB does something to them, I don't know, internet magic). Are these good? Bad? If so, what's bad about them & how do I fix it?

Since these got rammed through FB and aren't the highest quality anymore there's NO POINT IN STEALING THEM So WATCH YOUR STICKY FINGERS.

These haven't been edited/retouched at all. I know I should have watermarked them.

ALL comments welcome, except the "OMG THEY'RE So STUPID AND DUMB AND RHINOS ARE UGLY" variety.

What kind of adapter do I need to connect a Vivitar lens to a D3100?

I have an old Vivitar telephoto lens that I would like to use on my Nikon D3100. Unfortunately, I'm not sure how to tell what type of lens adapter I need. The link above is a gallery of the lens and packaging.

Best Nikon zoom lens?

I have a Nikon D3000 and I'm looking into getting a lens that zooms better than the one I have now… The one I have is the one that came with the camera. It's not terrible, but not great. What's the best Nikkor lens that's not super expensive?

What does it mean when it just says slr camera body?

I'm looking to but a slr camera. I'm looking on second hand websites and there saying (body only) next to the make and model of the camera.i. E Nikon D40 (Body Only). Can someone tell me what this means? I know you can buy extra lenses for these cameras but I thought you only brought them if you wanted better quality pictures i.e closeups etc.

Nikon D3000, opinions/reviews for using as portraits?

I have a Nikon D3000, I'm studing photography and learning about my camera, I've had for a yr now. I would love to turn my hobby into a little side job.
Some articles/reviews I've read said this camera is horrible in low light/indoor settings and I'm find all indoor photos are coming out blurry/ or too dark. I can't seem to get a crisp picture. Would like to know what I can change and your thoughts on this particular camera.

Best DLSR camera for a beginner with a budget of under £360?

I have been looking at DLSR's and people have recommened canons or nikons and i don't know which one is best, or one i should get, i have been recommed at the shop for a nikon d3000 or a canon 10000d

however i would like your opinion on what you think is best?

p.s. I would like the camera to come as the body and lens together.

Added (1). Also the nikon is the last one in the shop as it is discontinued and if it broke or anything then i wouldnt be able to get a reaplacement, probally be made to pay the rest of the cost for the new version of it that has just been released.
