How to set my Nikon D3000 to take a picture every 30 seconds for an hour or so?
I want to photograph my Thanksgiving dinner this year. My idea is to set up my camera on a tripod and have it automatically take pictures every 30 seconds or so in order to capture the movement and change of the Thanksgiving table as the dinner progresses. I then want to compile the images to create a short film documenting the dinner that is made from the still shots. Is this technique possible with my Nikon D3000?

Nikon 1.4f 50mm or Nikon 1.8f 35mm?
I consider myself an aspiring photographer and am looking to purchase a new lens. I currently own a D90 with the standard 3.5-5.6f lens and a 3.5f 60mm macro. The more I research the more I come back to either the 1.8f 35mm or 1.4f 50mm. First of all, does the 1.4 f-stop make that much of a difference in bokeh? From pictures I've seen, both lenses seem to have a sufficient amount, but will the 1.4 really look THAT much better? If it will, I wouldn't mind shelling out another buck-fifty. And would the 35mm or 50mm focal length be more versatile? Do I even want it to be versatile?

I have a Nikon D3000, with 2 lenses. I can't seem to get crisp clear photos with either one, or different settings. I'm wanting to start this professionaly in the next year and have been practicing on my kids/seniors/etc… I'm just not happy with the quality… Please help.
here are the lenses I have!
AF-S nikkor 55-200mm 1:4-5.6g ED
AF-S nikkor 18-55mm 1:3-5.6 G
both have VR… Do I need different lense or am I just not using my camera properly?

Added (1). 'BETTY'--- can you take a look at some of my pictures in my previous questions…
I'm studying the art of photography. Its a learning process. But, I'm asking this question about my lenses.

What is 70-300mm lens the equivilent of?
I'm buying a Nikkor 70-300mm lens for my Nikon D5000 soon, and i know its about focal length but what's the 300mm the equivalent zoom.
So how many X zoom would it be on a compact or bridge camera?

What should I include in a camera library?
I'm starting a little camera library where people can check out cameras to use. What cameras do you think would be best to include? I'm aiming for cheaper film cameras (like toy cameras, leicas, etc). I have a minolta x-370, yashica fx3 super 2000, reusable disposables, lomo fisheye, and a nikon D50 to name a few to start out with. How do you think I should expand?

I need advice to be a SLR camera and digital camera?
I already have a Nikon D60, but I'm looking to get a new digital camera and SLR.
My requirements for the SLR and the compacted digital camera are the same.
1) not outrageously expensive
2) zooms in far
3) takes good photos in the night
4) takes good action shots
5) take videos
6) flattering for scenery and face shots
Thanks so much! If you could send me links to sites that would also be awesome.

How to take photo of car at night?
I've taken photography at college, and I'm doing a project on portraiture. I want to take a photo of myself at night, lying on the ground in front of my dad's car, looking like I was about to be kind of run over. I want the car to have its headlights on, and I'd like myself on the ground to be clear, plus the grill of the car to be clear too.
The closest sort of thing I've found is this:
Imagine that with a person lying on the ground in front of it. The trouble is, with the headlights on their dimmest, they don't light me up at all, but if they're on brighter, then they mess the whole picture up, and I can't see anything. I also need a bit of illumination on the car itself to highlight the grill.
In short, how can I take a night picture of a car, with the headlights clear, the grill clear, and a person on the ground in front of it clear? What sort of settings etc.
I'm using a Nikon D70s, with a 24-120mm lens, or an 80-200mm lens. I have a tripod.
Added (1). Thank you both of you who have answered! Well as I'm only 16, I can't afford to get any proper lighting or accessories, so first of all I'm going to try a reflective surface behind the camera.
If that doesn't work, then I'm thinking that I could have another car behind the camera, with its headlights on, therefore lighting up the car in the photo.
I also like the idea of shooting at sunset, but I get home from college at 6 o'clock, by which time it's almost completely black out.
Here are my first attempts, without any lighting or reflective surface behind the camera. Note that the barrel in front of the car is there to show how the lighting would fall on a person.
Added (2). Thank you MOZ. Ideally I would do it under a street lamp, or in a parking lot, but as I live in the middle of the countryside in the UK, I can't really do either of those things. I'm also not old enough to drive, so I couldn't take the car somewhere else.

I just bought a Nikon D90 and I'm still really confused what lense I should get.
I'm going to be using the camera to take pictures from trips and family, so basically it will be as a hobby. I will be taking a 9-week photography course at the soon, and I want to get a good quality lense.
I've been reading a lot and it has come down to the Nikkor 18-200mm. However, I'm not really sure if that's the best one.
Also, I got even more confused because there are two different ones on Amazon and I can't tell the difference.
1) Nikon 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G AF-S ED VR II Nikkor Telephoto Zoom Lens for Nikon DX-Format Digital SLR Cameras
2) Nikon 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 G ED-IF AF-S VR DX Zoom-Nikkor Lens
Most likely, I will be buying the lense on ebay.
Please feel free to give any suggestions.
Added (1). By the way, I only bought the body and I currently have no lenses.

Nikon D80 is not taking pictures, WHY?
My Nikon D80 is not taking pictures. The battery is fully charge. When I press the button to take pics there's fashing 'f' and r15 appears. When the camera is on but not used 4.0 and k above the 4.0 appears.
