Nikon 40mm f/2.8 or Nikon 50mm f/1.8G?
I'm looking into getting a prime lens around 35-50mm and I can't decide between the new 40mm micro or the 50mm 1.8 gelded. Which to get?
I'm looking to buy my first SLR camera which ones are good?
I've had many regular digital cameras and now I'm ready to move onto a digital SLR. I'm not quite sure which one would be good for me. I've been looking at Nikon and Canon and so far from my research I like the Canon Rebel XSi.
I want to use my camera to capture moments in my life, such as taking good quality pictures of my 1 1/2 year old nephew, friends at gatherings, family at family gatherings, food, landscape, and places I go/ visit with my boyfriend. I just want a awesome picture where I can eventually hang pictures around my house and enjoy my photos. I eventually want to make it a hobby of mine.

External Hard Drive vs Flash Drive?
I'm a photographer for my student council, and the computers at school only allow us to have 2gigs of memory. On my nikon, I need a lottt of space. At home, I use a portable external hard drive to back up my computer, and my Western Digital didn't need installed. So for school, since things can't be installed by students, I was wondering if external hard drives like this can be used kind of like a flash drive? IF so, itd be great to save pictures to and store.
Can you loose other lenses with nikon cameras?

I'm looking for a good PROFESSIONAL camera.
i didn't like my handheld nikon, but i LOVE my handheld canon.people tell me nikon professionals are better, but i'm so much happier with my canon. Is there a difference between professional & handheld? Should i stick with canon or go nikon?
& also, i'm not a photographer, i just love taking pictures. So i 'm looking for something cheap with good quality.

Is there a timer on this camera? I'm not sure what kind it is exactly just that it takes nice pics. I'd usually be capable of figuring it out but it's in Korean… Ha I need to take head shots and etc. But I need a timer. If there's one what's a easy way I could find it?

I'm looking for a really goog high quality digital SLR camera, I hear that Nikon is better than cannon but I'm really not sure.

For all of those who know anything about DSLR camera lens?
So I was looking at nikon camera lenses, and I wasn't sure if a lense that has up to a 5.8x zoom will shoot photos just as well or better at 4x zoom than a camera with a 11x zoom (that shoots at a 4x zoom). I'm sorry if that made no sense. I guess to clear it up, if I had two lenses, one that was 5.8x and another one that was 11x, and I shoot a photo from both of them at 4x zoom, which would take a clearer/better picture?

A good Digital SLR Camera for Rs.35000?
I want to buy a good quality DSLR Camera with all the important features. Like photo quality should be extremely good and day and night time. My Budget is around Rs.30ks to 45ks. I'd like to have Nikon or Canon.
I did some research on my own over internet but got confused. So I guess People who've used DLSRs know it best.
