Just bought a Nikon Compact for my Wife and go a CD of View NX2… I already have Gimp2 and Paint.net… Are there any advantages in installing NX2 as well or am I just cluttering up my computer?
Can a nebula filter be used for a simple 35mm camera?
Sorry if I come off as a newbie at this, but i've always loved star gazing and especially looking and studying what goes on in our universe. I recently found out about nebula filters, but I'm having a bit difficulty understanding exactly how they are used. I know that they are used in telescopes, but unfortunately I don't have one at the moment. I do however have an old nikon from the 90's with a decent scope on it.
I was just curious if they have nebula filters out for regular film cameras, if so, how much? And does exposure time have anything to do in developing the photos? Or should a regular night time exposure be sufficient? Or since (i'm assuming) nebula filters provide an immediate image of the sky, should the exposure be less?
If no such thing exists, feel free to just tell me, i'm just curious and can't find anything of the sort on the internet.

Best point and shoot camera for a good price?
I had a little Panasonic Lumix 10 megapixels, and after many bars and caribbean destination vacations, she has been dropped in the ocean and is not coming back to life. I just bought a Nikon J1 of my trip to Africa but I do not plan on taking it out in the field while I'm volunteering so I want something that is small and compact that is going to come with me everywhere while the J1 will reside at camp. My idea point and shoot camera is going to be small, good zoom, good quality photos, and quick snap but it needs to be a good price (I did damage on my camera allowance with the J1 and did not plan for buying another digital point and shoot but sometimes things just happen!)

It's in great condition and it has three lenses, one big zoom lens, one flash exposure, and one "blacks optical exposure" in its box. I have no use for it and will probably be listing it on etsy or ebay

What DSLR Camera would be best for a beginner? - 1
I'm a beginner in photography and I wanted to know what DSLR camera would be good for me. I've always edited pictures and I'm constantly taking pictures of anything (nature, people, etc).
I found that I like The Canon EOS Rebel T3i, Kodak EASYSHARE Z5010 & MAX, and Also the Nikon F6.
If there are any preferences would like to have on it would be that it can film, photograph, the cameras lenses can change, and that it has a rechargable battery already built in (no double A batteries).

and i love it but i'm looking for a rifle that i can take to the range and accurately town shoot targets 300-400 yards, coyote hunt, and take a deer nothing bigger then deer i don't care about saving the pelts of the coyotes but i don't want to completely destroy the pelts either so i'm looking at.243 or.308 i already have a.30 cal in the 30-30 so i haven't looked into the.308 that much… But as far as i know both the 243 and 308 are very flat shooting which is what i'm looking for any help would be appreciated… And if you could give me advice on a good scope in the $150 range i've been looking at nikon or bushnell scopes… O and the occasional hog but i figured i would use the 30-30 on them
Memory card won't show up on my mac?
I recently bought a nikon camera, but now when i tried putting the memory card into my mac it won't show up. The memory card is a Lexar 8gb and on my mac, it won't show up anywhere! I can't find it and since i'm on vacation I really need to upload many pictures. Please help out! The memory card isn't broken since it works on my sister's mac. Any thoughts?
