Best way to record an interview?

What do you think is the best way to record an interview? It has to be able to record up to 1 hour and 30 minutes. But I don't need video, just sound. How long can an iPhone record for? I have a Nikon camera but it doesn't record for more than like 20 minutes at a time. And if I did use a phone, would the file be too big to get on my computer?

Nikon camera lens advice?

Hi
I'm looking at getting a nikon AF-S 18-70mm F3.5-4.5G ED DX AF Lens but i already have a Nikon AF-S DX 3, 5-5, 6/18-55 G VR Lens. Would there be much of an advantage getting if or should i look at a different lens? The 18-55 that i have at the moment i don't particularly like and we don't get on well at all. So what would be the pro's and con's of changing to the 18-70?

How often should I have my vintage film camera serviced?

My father gave me his Cannon FT purchased in the late 60's in Vietnam with his first big Army pay check. I learned how to shoot with this camera and although it isn't worth much, it has a lot of sentimental value to me. I don't shoot with it often because I prefer to shoot with my Nikon that I would not be heartbroken over if I broke it.

I took it in for a cleaning to a professional shop about 6 years ago and had to replace the focal pane shutter but was told it was otherwise in working order. Because I don't shoot with it often, how often should I take it in to have it checked out or serviced? I store it in the original leather case it came with. Is there a better way to store it?

Added (1). Typo! Sorry *Focal Plane Shutter*

Photographing dancers?

What kind of camera settings should I use when photographing a points ballet dancer using a digital Nikon 35mm

Added (1). Sorry I meant to say digital or a 35mm because I shoot with both. And the shot will be done outside in the botanical gardens. So lighting shouldn't be an issue. I think half my problem right now is that my digital doesn't shoot the picture fast enough. Like there's a delay from the time to button is depressed to the time the camera takes the picture.

Nikon SB-26 Flash advice?

I have just bought a Nikon SB-26 and it emits a high pitched whine when switched on. This is constant noise, not loud but audible in a quiet room. Is this a fault or just 'par for the course' in investing in an older second-hand model.

I'm very happy otherwise but would be keen for a refund if this is a fault.

Any advice gratefully received.

I want to buy a digital camera. What can I get?

I can't afford cannon or nikon at the moment as their prices are out of my reach & I won't buy samsung, sony, lumix or benq as they're not really good. What do you think of fujifilm, Kodak or Olympus?
I want something not more expensive than 300 bucks maximum. I want it with zoom & crisp & clear snapshots & would last me a life time. I take snapshots of everything for so long with my cellphone but I want a digi cam now.

What mm prime lens for a Nikon would be good for portraits in low light situations?

I'm thinking either 24, 55 or 85mm of course a fast lens. I would like to use it in weddings so basically as an all-purpose until I can start looking at fast zooms. (Back of shooter).

DSLR vs point and shoot vs mirrorless?

Background - I have limited photography skill, used to shoot with a film SLR, have owned and wrecked 3 Canon point and shoots in 4 years, all with the same lens jam. Now I need a new camera to shoot pics of my kiddos.

My latest Canon was an Elph and SUPER portable. I would say that I loved it but for the spontaneous lens jam (the other two Canon jams were my fault as I dropped the camera both times). It's as expensive to fix it as it is to buy a new model exactly the same, so I'm looking at possibly getting something different. Friends tell me of lens jams in their Nikons, Sonys, and Panasonics, so I know though particularly problematic in Canons, switching brand won't solve my problem.

Has anyone made the switch to DSLR? I'm not concerned about being able to work the controls, more about the portability. I love taking my camera everywhere, and loved the pocket sized Elph. I'm also looking into mirrorless digitals, which seem to be a bit of a compromise and a way to avoid the lens jam issue that seems to be plaguing me. Does anyone use a mirrorless? I'm looking at the Olympus PEN E-PM1, the Nikon J1, or the Panasonic GF3.

Any experience or recommendations on brand, etc. Would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Added (1). EDIT:
Lens jams in point and shoot models only. Update though, I was trying to fix the latest lens jam and dropped the camera and it works again! I think I'll start saving for an EVIL now, as it's sure to happen again soon.

Not sure about this deal?

I sent off my kit lens 18-55mm nikon lens (not VR). I sent the lens, lens cap, HB-33 lens hood and a Hoya Skylight filter and they offered $40.00 USD. I spoke to their buyer and the offer went to $50.00 USD. On their site they are offering the same lens for $125.00 USD, yet told me they are paying 70% of the lenses value. That math does not work for me. My question is would I be better off trying the Ebay route or do all those New York camera companies work pretty much the same. I'm not putting out the name of the company.

Added (1). They paid for the shipping and will return it also, just gotta make up my mind.

Want to buy a digital camera 125-250 price range. Can't decide which?

I have narrowed it down to these models, and would like advice on the best one to buy. (Used for kids, pets, sports, and also selling antiques from home.)
*Canon Power ShotA2300, *Canon Power ShotA3400, " " A4000, Canon Power Shot Elph 110, " "Elph320, or the Nikon S6200.

I take A LOT of photos, and have been happy with Canons in the past.
I like a good zoom too.
Please help, I'm at a loss of which model would suit me best.
Really looking for someone with one of these models for a good review, or a photography professional…
