Which is better for creative photography?

I'm buying a new DSLR camera soon and am torn.
I have looked at plenty of reviews of the Canon EOS Rebel T3 and of the Nikon D3100.
I'm more into creative and conceptual photography than professional (like wedding photos)
I have heard better things about the Nikon, but they seem to mainly be focused on the pros for people who are more interested in more pro. Photography.

These are the types of photos I would like to learn to take (and yes, I know they are higher models and that photoshop/lightroom are used.)

Which is better for creative photography

Please give your opinion and any tips if you have any.

How do make my images lighter?

Basically, I recently bought a Nikon D3100 and I'm quite new to the whole photography thing. My problem, however, is that whenever I point the camera at something that is even the tiniest bit dark, it will look fine on the screen, however, when I take the picture and look back at it, it will be almost completely dark! I've tried changing all of the settings and everything but none of that helps. When there's plenty of light, the picture looks the same both on the screen and when I look back at it after I've taken the picture, the problem only occurs when there's just a hint of darkness.

Nikon 40mm vs Nikon 85mm Macro Lenses?

I'm looking into getting the Nikon D5100 as it's at the top end of my range with everything is included (memory card, bag, etc.). I'm set on getting the 18-200mm as my overall lens but I know that I want a macro lens as I tend to delve into macro/product shots. I'm leaning towards the Nikon 40mm Macro Lens but am worried about it not having the VR II feature seen in the 85mm.

How to shoot studio white back drop to a darker grey?

I have a white back drop for a model shoot, however the backdrop comes out too white, ideally I want it a grey tone, like 40 - 50% of black. All photos will be converted to black and white usuages.

I'm using Nikon D90, 60mm Macro lens, SB800 speed light and a reflector.

Your professional advice is greatly appreciated!

I need a help about cameras, about filmmaking, anyone please?

Hi, I'm a beginner filmmaker. Now I'm working on a first serious short movie. (sorry for my English). My first question is:
1) Are Canon SX 40 HS and Nikon D3100 normal cameras for short movie?
2) Will I be able to sync the videos shot by canon and nikon? Will there be any problem?

Canon Eos Rebel T3, how do I ask?

Hey guys so my birthdays coming up on march 31 and I really really want a canon rebel T3. It's on sale for $389. I had asked my mom for the nikon d3100 1 month ago and she said no
So I found a camera for the same price on sale that is way better and I want to ask her again but I'm not sure how I should bring it up without her saying no
I love to make youtube videos and she also knows that
Would it help if I told her I would pay the rest with all the money I get for my bday? Please help and no, I'm not spoiled. I just want my 13th birthday to be the best of all. And p.s. I've been doing better than I was in school and I give no attitude, never did, I do all the chores and yeah! Please answe

Camera DR is it that important?

Am i reading too much into DR

my d90 have a supposed value of 12.5 DR now i'm not sure how this is measured but i seem to focus in on this value more than any when selecting a camera.

i'm interested in a canon 1d mark III mainly because its a beast of a camera, looks great and fast, not to mention IQ is great too id like to use one can always resell if its too big and heavy i've completely flipped from light weight to liking these big pro camera.

but the DR is measured at 11 only, now most canons are less than nikon is DR.

whatm are you thoughts is a DR value of 11 enough do its really matter

ps i hate using filter to much messing about for my needs so i like to have good skys naturally out of camera if possbile the 12.5 was good enough on d90 but was hoping to go up in this value not down.

Nikon D7000 and 50mm 1.8D opinions?

So I finally decided on a camera and lens I want to buy… A nikon d7000 and a nikon 50mm 1.8D. From the sample pictures online it looks like a really amazing camera and lens for photography. Well, is it? Does it have good focus? Is it hard to work with? Sorry for all the questions, I just want to make sure I'm making the right choice. I want this camera to be the camera that I start my photography career with, so it has to be close to perfect. Also, I was tied between the d90 and the d7000 which is better? I'm guessing the d7000 because it's more expensive.

What settings do I need for Inside a church on my nikkor 17-55 lens?

I just bought this lens with my d7000 and was hoping to take indoor pics without flash.
My settings seems to be off bcuz the shutter seems to be too slow and there's motion blur.
When I increase shutter the pics seems to be dark… I then blast up the iso and its still not bright enough.

Any advice?
