Which is better for creative photography?
I'm buying a new DSLR camera soon and am torn.
I have looked at plenty of reviews of the Canon EOS Rebel T3 and of the Nikon D3100.
I'm more into creative and conceptual photography than professional (like wedding photos)
I have heard better things about the Nikon, but they seem to mainly be focused on the pros for people who are more interested in more pro. Photography.
These are the types of photos I would like to learn to take (and yes, I know they are higher models and that photoshop/lightroom are used.)
Please give your opinion and any tips if you have any.
Canon 5D mark 2 or 3… Hands down. I have an Olympus E3, which will work fine for now for my purposes, but when I want to upgrade, that is what I will buy. AMAZING ISO.
"Creative" photography comes from a creative PHOTOGRAPHER. Either the Canon or Nikon will do the exact same thing, it makes no difference in the slightest which camera you use. It is all about following a concept and having the skill and knowledge to use light and angles to get the looks you want. Photoshop / Lightroom does NOT necessarily have to be used at all.
Steve P nailed it.
The choice might be made based on what feels better in your hand, user interface, menus, etc.
Creativity resides inside of you (or not). The camera does not have one iota of creativity. Plus your examples are largely mediocre/standard stuff, and two are not in focus.
Either camera will do all of what you want. The secret is in knowing how to use it.
