What are some good Nikkor lenses for the Nikon D3000 D-SLR Camera?
Looking for good reviews and recommendations for good Nikon brand Nikkor lenses. My parents said I can ask for one for my birthday and I just recently bought myself a Nikon D3000 D-SLR camera and I already have the standard 18-55mm Zoom lens. I'm looking for a good macro lense, so if you have any suggestions, I'm looking for some input.
What is the benefit of a lens shroud and under what circumstances is it beneficial?
I have a Nikon D80, am shooting with a Nikkor 18-135mm lens and it came with a shroud. I haven't ever used it, but I'm curious what it's supposed to be used for.

So i'm going to a sweet 16 and i'm bringing my camera. I have 3 lenses and i'm not going to bring all 3 of them.
i have the following
55-200mm ( which i'm not going to bring )
18-55mm f3.5-5.6
and a 35mm f1.8
I don't have a flash of any kind except the flash that's built on the camera.
i use a nikon d3000.So what lense would be better? I don't know what the lightning is going to be like.

Does the nikon d3100 have an autofocus problem?
I just bought a brand new D3100 and it was working fine until the next morning. It wouldn't focus on any subjects.
Best Nikon Sports Lens for Under $600?

I've been wanting to take pictures at soccer/basketball games, and maybe a little bit of wildlife, but I do not know which lens to go to. I think I would need a zoom lens, but I'm very uneducated in lenses. I have the Nikon D3000.
I just bought a nikon d3100, and since i'm a beginner at photography i thought since i spend almost $700 on a camera, i would get awesome quality, but no, i guess i have to by some good lenses to get what i want from the camera, so is there any lenses that you recommend, i want sharper images, i don't want to spend more than $300 on one, but since i don't know much about this stuff, is $300 not enough? I don't know, just let me know which ones you recommend, thanks.
Added (1). I want the lenses to be good for taking close ups and portraits.
