Added (1). Lol no i mean i will give you 5 stars

I really like taking pictures and i would love to become a a photographer. The only camera i own is a small, cheap Canon digital. I work with my friends Nikon really well. I need a camera-preferably professional, and preferably you can change the color (black n white, sepia, etc.). Budget isn't that big a deal, but preferably under $1000.
Thank you!
Added (1). (The Nikon i work with is D70)

A friend of mine has asked me to take photos of her little boy in May. He is 3. I've never done a photo shoot before, let alone with a squirmy toddler.
I have a Nikon d90 and will be mostly using my Nikon 50mm lens. I'll pull out my 70-300mm if I have to as well. We will be outside in a park in Downtown Portland, OR… Lots of people around.
Can anyone give me any tips? What to expect? How to deal with a child during a shoot? What sort of equipment will I need besides my camera and lenses? Also, are there any reasonably priced lenses (prime or zoom) that you would recommend for portraits? I'm thinking about another lens for this.
I'm completely new to shoots - which my friend knows - but I still want to be as professional and prepared as I can be. Any advice at all is greatly appreciated.

I already have a Nikon S700 camera (the red touch screen camera in the Ashton Kutcher commercials). I love photography and I want a professional camera. My S700 is good, but not that good. My friend has a fancy Nikon camera (one of the big ones with the lenses) and it's AMAZING! I don't know what kind she has though. I looked at the Nikon website and I like the D3100. Which Nikon camera is the best? I'm only a highschooler and I don't want like a truly professional one that's huge but I want a real Nikon.

Point and shoot with best overall quality?
I already own a Nikon D60 which I love to death, but sometimes it becomes a hassle to carry around in casual situations. So, I'm looking for a great point and shoot that takes excellent quality photos. I'm not too afraid to reach into a higher price range, I'm merely exploring my options at this point.

What other lens can the nikon camera take?
I have a nikon D90, i know it can take obviously the nikon lens, but can it also be fitted with cannon lens and or sigma and or tamron?

So I recently got a film camera from my friend. I've been using a D90 with these lens; 17-55 f/2.8, 18-105 kit lens, 50mm prime.
Will my 17-55mm work on this N2000 film body?

Added (1). I've read on NR that it will soon come out… Is this really it then?

I have floor seats to an NBA basketball game, but what settings should I put my nikon d5000 on?

How to lock the release option on my Nikon D3000?
I have a remote for my Nikon D3000, but I have found that whenever the screen goes black, I have to reset the release options to "Quick Response Remote." Is there any way to lock that setting so that I won't have to reset it every time the camera rests?
