How to make a timelapse with a nikon d50?

Windows 7 Disk Check Tool ruined my CF card?
My CF card for my nikon d70 was acting up when i first started taking some pictures so i took it out and blew all the bust out hoping that would fix it. It did but all the pictures i took before that were corrupted and couldnt be viewed.
All the pictures taken after that incident turned out to be fine. When i plugged in my CF card, i thought the Error-checking tool in Win7 would fix the corrupted JPEGs but instead it turned my 100NCD70 folder into a file without an extension.
I have done some research and used some un-checkdisk utilities but that didn't work because they only fix.chk files which i don't have because the folder that turned into a file has no extension.
The JPEG files are still on the CF card, it shows that it takes up space but the files are in the stupid folder…
Screenshots:
I can't lose these files! I have tried other programs like recuva and unchk but nothing is working so far! I have also tried reading the CF card through another card reader.

What Nikon DSLR camera is best for a beginner?
For my birthday in September, I would really like a camera. The pictures will be focused on scenery with a few pictures of friends. What is the best camera to get if this is only my third time using a Nikon DSLR camera (I used a D7000)

How to adjust the depth of field?
Id like a more shallow DOF in my pictures, i have a nikon D90 and use the kit lens for now. I take portrait pictures of people so how can i (step by step) adjust to this? (i'm not to familiar with adjusting the setting on my new camera so i need steps if you know them)

Will a 18-55mm Canon lens from a film camera work for a Nikon D5000?
I want to purchase a Nikon D5000, and I already have a 18-55mm lens from my Canon EOS Rebel (it's a film camera), and I want to know if I would have to purchase the D5000 with the lens AND the body, or if I could just use the same lens, but have a different body… This way, I, hopefully, save money.

My shutter won't go when my hotshoe is connected?
I have a Nikon D3000 and I just bought a bower hotshoe flash that says is compatible with my camera. When I attach the hotshoe and turn it on the camera won't take a picture when I press the shutter button. I know the flash itself works because when I press the test button it flashes, and the shutter will go while the hotshoe is connected and turned off, but as soon as I turn it on, it won't take a picture. It focuses and beeps as though it is taking a pic, but the shutter never goes. Is there a setting I need to set the camera to or something?

The lenses that I have are 18-105mm, 55-200mm and the 70-300mm is there any other lens that i would need. I take sports shots, kids, scenery so just about anything. Do I need to add anything else
