The Nikon 7100 that will be announced the week after you buy a D7000. Seriously the Nikon D7000 is a lot of camera for the money, I can't think of any reason to buy more camera unless you are a seasoned professional shooter and then I would still prefer having two D7000's to one D3 if that was the budget.

The Nikon D7000 just came out. There's probably not going to be a replacement for another year and a half.
