Somehow i broke my nikon d3100 i think?
I got this great camera for x-mas adn used it a few times but i lost the thing that charges teh battery do it had been sitting on my dresser for months then like 2 weeks ago i wanted to see if it had any battery left.adnits fell like not even a foot and i thought nothing of it… But i got a charger for it
then realized that EVERY picture has the same black box and only a little bit of the top is showing a normal picture, i tried to change the settings to see if it would change and its saying error… It has a year warrinty bc i bought it new… What happened and what do i do?
Call Nikon. Ask them they could show you how to reset the default program.
If you're talking about how the picture you just took looks on the lcd on the back, I've got your solution. Simply press the circular selection dial side-to-side until the lcd review gives you a full picture.
Now, if your actual photos are compromised on your computer screen or when you print them, that's a different matter. It's tough to tell just by your description. Can you email me a photo so I could see what it looks like?
IF it is damaged by the fall, you'll get no help from the warranty. The factory warranty is for quality control and protects you from defects in design or manufacture. It doesn't cover abuse or accidents.

You dropped it. It needs to be checked by someone with some knowledge of cameras. If you're lucky you just busted the lens. To me it sounds like the mirror got damaged. That's an expensive repair not covered by warranty.
