I'm thinking of buying a new DSLR. At the moment, I shoot with a Nikon D40 which is about 3 years old but it still works as well as ever. Do you think I should go ahead and buy a new DSLR (I'd most likely buy a Nikon D7000) or would I be better sticking with my D40, and spending that money on some new kit? (Lenses, tripod etc.) Thanks!

I'm planning to get 1 but it is very cheap

I want new lens i don't care the price?
I have a nikon D5000, got it for christmas and i use it all the time, i've read books and pages or internet things to improve. My lens is nikon af-s nikkor 18-55mm not too big. I would like one thats larger in length. OH not over 7, 000 i'm 14 and i won't ruin it but i have to pay so thats a long time to save up. - Any suggestions, on what lens to get?
Another thing, will any nikon or nikkor lens fit in my nikon d5000? Or do i need a special fit?
Oh do you like my profile picture on this thing?

Menu about auto focus of nikon d3100 with 18-55 lens?
When I put the lens to A model, the lens can't focus by it self. I put it to M model, it can focus by my hand. The d3100 is new for me so I have no idea how to set up it on the menu. Could you tell me how to set the auto focus? Thank you~ Once the same case happened on my pentax k10d, which I solve it on menu.

If I want to shoot a subject about 50-70 ft away (my sister's graduation)
will the Nikon - D5100 18-55mm VR Lens be good enough if I'm trying to get a close up on her,
like when i zoom? Thanks in advance!
this is the lens that comes with the camera i can get another lens until the summer and my sisters grad is in two weeks
Added (1). Thank you guys!
& @ Hondo in some cases learning is better yes but why would I go buy the camera just to return it if it doesn't shoot far enough why not just ask someone who has had the lens… I mean THEY WOULD know they had it, so now that i got the answer i don't have to buy it just to find out it doesn't work and take it back, time saved! So thanks for trying to sound smart but no thanks.

Nikon d3100 camera, shooting a concert?
I'm going to be taking pictures at a concert tomorrow.
i'm not all that familiar with my camera yet, and last time i took pictures at a concert, they weren't of good quality and very blurry.
The concerts are fast paced, "Screamo" genre if that helps you understand the setting (dark)
i know i need to change the aperture, iso, and shutter speed, but i don't know how.
When i get into the ISO sensitivity settings, i can only change the ISO sensitivity. I can't change the Auto ISO sensitivity, max. Sensitivity, or Min shutter speed.
It says "this option is not available with the current settings"
If you could give me a step by step guide on how to fix this, that would be a great help!
Added (1). I can't use manual, that's what messed up my pictures last time. So i need to figure out why i can't change my ISO settings, like when the error screen pops up and says its not available.
remember, i'm not used to my camera and have had nearly no experience with cameras. So try to make terms simpler >.<

Monitor on my Nikon D90 will not come on?
The monitor on my Nikon D90 will not come on?

What kind of DSLR takes photos like this?
As in, like with that kind of detail, especially around the eyes.
Could I get it with a Nikon D3100?
Thanks.
Added (1). Could it also take photos like this?
I want it to do that thing where the eyes stand out heaps, it's almost surreal.

How to use third party flash on Nikon D60?
I have a Nikon D60, and I recently purchased a YN462. I know how to turn on the flash by itself as well as put it on the Nikon's shoe mount, however I can't get them to sync. I don't know much about settings or flash modes, etc so if someone could please tell me step by step how to set it up that would be great! Also, my boyfriend is telling me I might need a separate flash sync because the Nikon D60 is not compatible with third party flashes. But he isn't 100%. Thanks!
Added (1). Obviously I don't know HOW to do whatever I need to do, so just telling me what i need to do isn't very helpful if you don't tell me how. And of course I tried it in M, in auto, any thing i could have done i did.

Can I know how many clicks my Nikon d5000 camera has done?
I couldn't find it in the camera menus, is it there?
