Why are Nikon lenses so cheap? Compared to say Canon?
I'm learning of the Nikon lenses and while their zooms are expensive their primes are so cnfusing. Why is there a 50mm 1.2 for 600 or even 400$ on eBay! And 50mm 1.4 for 200$ on eBay.these are interestin pg because they look like the old school lenses you saw in the 50s so I'm terribly confused. They look kind of like Zeiss or Leicas but I don't know how to buy a lens ror my Dx because I'm so confused. My D7000 has a build in autofocusing motor so does that mean it could autofocus if the lens can't which I assume some of these can't. Why is it so confusing? They look cool but it seems like they were meant for the DSLR.

Okay so i was playing around with the settings on my camera and i was on one of my pictures and suddenly all my pictures erased and i can't get them back at all. I can't find them and i have a nikon D3000. Please tell me there's a way to get them back i'm desperate. It has all my sisters graduation pictures and all my summer pictures.

I just got a Nikon D5000 and I was taking shots outside with my friend and it wasn't focusing well and then a little later I did some random shots and it can barely focus. By focusing I mean clicking down half-way. I need it for tomorrow for a casual photo shoot.

Which camera is the better choice?

Do I really need a lens to cover in between 16 and 50mm?
I currently own Nikon D5100, a Tokina 11-16mm 2.8, and a Nikon 50mm AF-S 1.4G.
Do I really need a lens to cover the focal length in between these two? (17-49mm)

Is a Nikon D3100 lens compatible with a Nikon D40x body?
I have a Nikon D40x SLR camera and I accidently dropped my 18-55mm lens and want to buy a new one on ebay.
I believe the lens I have found is identical but the description says it is for a D3100 and I'm just wondering if the lenses are interchangeable on Nikon camera bodies?
In short… Will the new lens work on the older body?
