Has anyone used a Nikkor 50mm 1.8G lens with a Nikon d3100?
I want to know how well this works as well as quality of the photo…
Nikon d90 view finder problem?
In the viewfinder of my nikon d90, on the bottom right there's a symbol that looks like this [r21] I understand that when I shoot in continous mode, that number decreases as each shot i take with the camera. But why does that number vary sometimes. LIke when i turn the camera on, its [r5]. Why not [r21]?
I've been using a DSLR for a few years now but I'm completely self-taught. I don't understand very much of the technical terms or whatever, so I was trying to figure out if I could use old lenses on my D3100 but I don't understand what people are saying when they're talking about the meter? And I've seen stuff about having to focus manually with an old lens on a new body. That's not a problem for me; that's how I shoot most of the time anyways.
Anyways, I guess I mostly don't understand the stuff about the meter. I was just thinking I might be able to find some old, cheaper lenses to play around with.
What lens would be good to go with my Nikon d70?

Added (1). Yeah, just a general purpose lens, i was thinking a 18-70mm nikon lens but i want to get it second hand because i have a limited buget, say under $200 if thats possible for a second hand lens.
Can I keep a camera in my car's glovebox?
I have decided I'm going to buy a Nikon D3100(digital SLR)… But to get my money's worth out of such a huge investment would require me to take advantage of every opportunity to take photos. This means leaving it in the car when I'm not at my place or a hotel. Would this destroy the camera?
I've been looking at the Nikon d50 and the Nikon d70s, do you know where I can get these cameras under £100? I know this is probably impossible but if you could find it great (preferably the d70s).

I would love to buy the Nikon d3000 camera from them but right now its at $499 kinda pricy i wanna know do they have sales around Christmas time or after black Friday on dslr camera's? Or am i wasting my time and should just get it now? Would the price drop next year or would it not make a difference?
Is it possible to set a Nikon D7000 to release its shutter when it detects sound?
I'm trying to take a picture of a guitar string being played for a college project on harmonics. It's pretty difficult trying to take the shot and pluck the string so that it captures the shot as soon as I let go of the string. I'm aware that you can set up shutter release via sound detection with use of an external microphone but can I do this without and if so how?
How come a Vivitar zoom lens isn't working with Nikon D5100?
My friend let me borrow a Vivitar 70-210mm zoom lens. It was working great and taking pictures then it just stopped working. My camera, Nikon D5100, says it's not attached. All help appreciated, thanks
Thinking about getting the Nikon D3000?
So I want a Nikon D3000 because I want to get into photography. Right now I have a Sony cyber-shot its an okay camera i guess. But I want a good camera that I can use for photography doesn't cost too much. Can anyone tell recommended a good photography camera or give their thoughts on the Nikon D3000?
