Does Nikon have an equivalent lens to Canon 70-200 f/4L?
I'm gonna buy Nikon D7000 but I really love some of Canon's lenses. For example the 70-200mm f/4L costs about 700 dollars and it's amazing. I noticed that Nikon doesn't have such great but inexpensive lens.why? Any other choice?

Which type of photographers should have a Nikon 50mm 1.8G Lens?
Which type of photographers should have a Nikon 50mm 1.8G Lens? And what are the main advantages of this lens rather than buying a focus lens such as 55-200 or 55-300?
I'm not a professional photographer and i own D3100 and I take photos of family, sometimes nature etc… So i'll be looking at the image quality with a nice bokeh effect. Would you advise me to have one 50mm Lens?

My Nikon D40 is having problems focusing?
I have two lens that came with it (I bought it used) I have a 18-55mm and a 55-200mm. The issue is the 18-55mm, whenever it is on automatic it has an issue focusing. It will take forever trying to focus itself and just never takes the shot, so I end up just switching to manual. However, when I use 55-200mm I don't have this problem. Its completely fine! I'm not a wiz with photography, but I'm trying to work on it because I do want to learn as much as I can.
Then someone once told me its because the body is too slow for the lens? So if this is the case then what does that exactly mean?

Is the Nikon D5100 even a good camera?
My dad bought me this and some cheap lens that cost $400 that was recommended by some man that sells cameras.

Good slr non-afs doesn't need video?
I've had a d3000 and d3100 up to this point, having hd video with the d3100 was cool, but I'm getting tired of using expensive AF-S lenses for day-to-day shooting. I'm most likely getting a GoPro so having HD video is not a big deal to me. I want a super decent nikon that has internal autofocus controls and whatnot so I can get whatever lens I want and just use it. I was looking at the d90 because my budget is right around $600. I don't want anything with lame specs either. Thanks for the help. I will be keeping my 35mm 1.8 AF-S prime since it is a great lens for what I paid.

Is it worth it to buy an $1200 lens for a camera?
I have had the nikon d5100 for a while, but haven't used it much. I bought some cheap lens that was a little more than $400. I think the pictures look good, but if I buy an expensive Zeiss lens then will it take much better pictures?
Added (1). I don't know about photography. My dad bought me the camera.
Added (2). The lens I have was recommended by some man that sells cameras, so I think it may be for beginners.

So I set the camera to time (bulb) and press the button on the remote and the shutter opens, I press it again and the shutter closes, but immediately after that, the camera takes another photo… How do I stop the camera from taking a second photo?

How to take good quality pictures?
Hi. I have owned a Nikon d3000 for three months now and i still have troubling figuring out why the pictures don't look crips and thick.
they look like the pictures i can take with a digital camera.
My friend has the same camera but the pictures end up looking very thick and vibrant.
She said something about "manual setting" what does that mean?
Do you need a certain flash that you have to attach to the camera?
Mine come out looking normal.

I have a Nikon D50 which i have not used recently but I charged the batteries and when I tried to use it I keep getting a " CHR " notification in the lower right corner of the top display and in the view finder and the camera will not shoot. The auto focus engages and everything works. I tried my battery from my D90 but same issue occurred. Any advice?
