How to take a single picture in bulb mode with the remote on Nikon D60?
So I set the camera to time (bulb) and press the button on the remote and the shutter opens, I press it again and the shutter closes, but immediately after that, the camera takes another photo… How do I stop the camera from taking a second photo?
It should not take a second photo.
Try to do a complete reset of the camera. Also check and see if there are any firmware updates available. Finally, replace the battery in the remote and see if that fixes the problem.
This is more or less a shotgun approach to fixing the problem, but if it works, it works.
As AWBoater says, it shouldn't do that - unless… Using a wireless remote (is that supported on the D60?) the remote the bulb mode is limited to 30 seconds, which could cause the issue you are seeing.
Buy this DVD it will show you how to get the most out of your camera and teach you about all the settings it has
