Does Nikon have an equivalent lens to Canon 70-200 f/4L?
I'm gonna buy Nikon D7000 but I really love some of Canon's lenses. For example the 70-200mm f/4L costs about 700 dollars and it's amazing. I noticed that Nikon doesn't have such great but inexpensive lens.why? Any other choice?
No.
The lens I use that Canon has no similar lens is the 200-400 mm f/4. I use it when shooting sports with a full frame D3.

I'm sure there are a few Nikkor lenses you can "love" too, although they are just tools
The Nikon 80-200mm f/2.8 is around $1, 200 and is a supurb lens - and is gonna be better than the Canon f/4.It's only caveat is it requires a camera with a focus motor to autofocus - which the advanced and pro Nikons have (including the D7000); but not the entry level cameras (D3000 and 5000 series).
So for around the same price range, you can get a superior Nikon lens.
No… BUT, Nikon's older 80-200 2.8 AF is significantly less expensive than their newer 70-200.
Here's a use AF 70-210 F4 Nikkor.

From the reviews that I have seen of the Canon 70-200mm f4, A nikon version could be nice to have. Some Nikon owners sniff that it is "only f4", but besides the high price of the Nikon f2.8, there's the extra weight, plus the fact that reviews of the Nikon 70-200mm f2, 8 or the 80-200mm f2.8 show you have to stop down to f4 anyway to get really good sharpness. I suppose in some action scenes the extra speed is still worthwhile.
According to this article, Tokina may have a Nikon-compatible, optical-image-stabilized 70-200mm f4 in the works.

So far I have not seen anything more about how this might be coming along.
