Best Nikon lens for under $500?
I have a Nikon D5100 with a standard lens which is nice, but I find it doesn't have the kind of zoom that I'm looking for. I'd like to do nature photography but that's requires a good zoom since you can't always get close to the animals. What Nikon lens would you suggest for under $500?

Nikon d5100 mid telephoto lens?
I don't really like the 18-55 kit lens, it's too slow and i'd like to upgrade to something faster. The d5100 doesn't have a built in focus motor, so the lens must have a built in motor. Any recommndations? Oh, i'd like to keep it under $400, and used will be okay too

Red stripe on grip of cameras?
I've noticed a lot of people have dslrs with a red stripe, is it just for a certain brand or series.
P.S: Should I get the nikon d3100?

How to shot a picture like this with nikon d5100?
What setting i need to set during this kind of shot?

I just bought a Canon T3i, which I intend to use mostly for video.
I have a few nikkor lenses, that I've mounted on the camera with a fotodiox adapter (the cheaper kind).
They are all G-type lenses, so I ran into a problem with aperture from the start. My biggest problem is that when I turn to the video preset, there's an error that says "Ensure a lens is attached". If I press it again, it let's me shoot the video but only for about 9 seconds, and then it stops automatically.
I have a SanDisk 16GB, class 4 memory card.
I'm pretty new at this, so it might be something obvious?
Added (1). Again, it's not important why I have the camera, that isn't going to help anyone. I actually have a Nikon D90, and it supports video as well. So, the concern isn't in why I didn't get another Nikon.

Best entry level camera with the video function?
I have been interested in photography for a while and I have played around with my camera (Canon IXUS 870) and my parents camera (Nikon D60 with a 24-85 mm lens (which does not autofocus) and a Sigma DG 150-500mm F5-6.3 APO DG OS HSM lens (which is just amazing. However as I'm going to start my IB film course I really wanted something that would allow me to film in a better quality and more manual options than my Canon. However I would also like to get a camera that could potentially lead me into the world of photography (I know that Nikon D60 is a good camera but the lack of autofocus makes it difficult, because even though I looks like I focused, when I look at the picture on the computer it's not.)
I've been looking at Canon 550D, but I would like to use something that I could use the lenses that my parents have on. Any suggestions (similar price range or cheaper than Canon 550D)?

Nikon, the generic charger is always on green?
I have bought a second hand nikon d70s, i'm not sure if the battery is fully charged, when i plug it in it stays on green which i thought means that the battery is fully charged, when i put it into the camera, it sometimes shows me that the battery is low, sometimes shows me the battery is full.i'm confused now.

Food picture with nikon d3000 inside a hotel?
How should i take snaps of food dishes inside hotel with nikon d3000?

Which of these two cameras are best?
Nikon d3100
Canon 1100d
I'm just starting photography and I've been looking for a new camera. I've had a look at these two and was wondering which is best?
I was interested in taking photos of fast moving objects (sports) and I realise that these arent perfect for that because of the low frames per seconds. However its the best I could find for a low price. But I'll also be taking pictures of scenerys. So which of these cameras are the best for me?
Feel free to suggest some other cameras, preferably with a higher frames per second rate, but bearing in mind I'm only looking for an entry level dslr as I can't afford to go too high. I can stretch to about £400ish
