Overexposure Correction help needed
Alright, so I was taking studio pictures for my skate team. We have a softbox, and an overhead light, and shooting on a Nikon D90.
I edited the first two skaters after the team went home, and they came out exactly how I wanted them.
When I got to my third skater, I suppose he was standing a tad closer to the softbox. The raw photograph looked no different then the rest of the team, so I didn't put much thought into him being a little closer. Although, when I began editing, his left cheek easily gets washed out during the procedure to get each picture looking similar. When I try to fix it, his skin becomes discolored, or gets cloudy looking. What can I do to fix this?
(I'm using Photoshop CS6)

Is the Velbon df 50 tripod for the Nikon d3000 compatible?

Expensive camera with cheap lens, or cheaper camera with a more expensive lens?
I'm looking at either getting a Nikon 5100 with the stock lens, or getting an older Nikon D3000 with the stock lens, and probably some other lenses, such as a 50mm. Which do you think would be a better decision, a D5100 with one lens, or a D3000 with a few lenses. Thanks.
Added (1). The D5100 is about $600
The D3000 is about $300
And the lens I want to include with the D3000 is about $150.

AI-S Lenses on the Nikon D3100?
Is it possible to mount and use AI-S mount lenses on the Nikon D3100? I understand that it will not be able to auto-focus or meter. I want to buy the Rokinon MC 28-80mm f/3.5 to 4.5 and the Sirius Auto Zoom 70-210 f/4-5.6. I have read that all AI-S lenses can be mounted on the D3100 however on the 28-80mm's webpage it states that this lens can't work on the D3100. Can I use these 2 lenses on the D3100?

DSLR or High-end Ultrazoom Camera?
I'm trying photography as a new hobby/spare-time activity. Could someone please suggest me on getting a good camera.
My interests (sorted by priority)
1) Bird photography
2) Wildlife photography (Mostly in safaris, wild-life parks, sanctuaries etc)
3) Nature & Landscapes
4) Creating films that look like a film (cinematic look)
5) Everything else including portraits or special moments.
I know DSLRs gives the best of the picture quality, but I'm not so sure that a DSLR suits me better than a high-end ultrazoom cameras like Panasonic FZ150/200, or Sony HX200V or similar cameras from Nikon and Canon.
My questions.
1) Is 300mm long enough to shoot birds or animals in a Safari? How long (in feet or meters) can a 300mm zoom in?
2) At 300mm, with an ordinary Tamron or Sigma 70-300mm lens, can a DSLR like Nikon D5100 beat the picture quality of a ultrazoom P&S?
I can buy a DSLR, a 1.8D lens and Tamron or Sigma 70-300 normal lens. Can't invest on heavy duty or premium lenses. And buying a ultrazoom is just a piece of cake for me at this moment.
What do you suggest?
I pretty much look for quality in picture than any fancy stuff. And the picture quality of the cameras like Panasonic FZ150/200 isn't bad either.

Nikon AF-S DX VR Zoom-Nikkor 55-200 mm f/4-5.6G IF-ED Lens?
Am using Nikon d5100… Can i use this lens for macro photography?

Okay so I would like the Nikon d3100 but that is to bulky and I don't have a need for a dslr camera
I was wondering if you had any suggestions for digital cameras that take similar photos to the nikon one. Right now I use my iphone but I would like something that's a step above.
