I'm a high school senior. I have a nikon D3000 and 2 different lenses.

Nikkor 24-85mm f/2.8 autofocus?
Hi, i have a Nikon D60 and just bought the Nikkor 24-85mm f/2.8.
but it doesn't seem to be autofocusing. I mean, the pictures are great. But i gotta manual focus though.
is it the lens' problem? Or does this Nikkor lens just doesn't autofocus on the D60?
thanks for the help!
ps. Do you think i should return it to my frd if it doesn't autofocus? I mean… It was 700 and she sold it to me for 250.everything works fine, it's just the autofocusing: S

I started my own photography business two months ago and it's really starting to pick up!
I currently am using a 35mm pentax zx-60 with a sigma 28-200mm lens. It's a great camera but I'm quickly getting tired of having to develop the film, edit, then put photos on a disk for my clients. It takes alot of time!
I will be purchasing a DSLR this weekend and have narrowed it down to two packages w/in my price range.
the first one is at costco. They have the sony A330 10Mp dslr.their package comes with an 18-55 and a 55/200 lens kit, 4g memory card, and the carrying case for 549.00
the second on one is on amazon. It's the nikon d3000 with 18-55 and 55-200mm nikkor lens for 568.00
the nikon deal doesn't include the memory card or case so I'd have to buy those
I know nikon is probably the better camera but i've heard the lenses on the sony are good and the sony camera is a decent one for new people which I'm.

Will this lens work with a nikon d3000?
I currently have a pentax zx-60 and I'm going to be upgrading to a DLSR this weekend as my business is starting to pick up and I want/need the convenience of a digital camera.
I have this lens on my pentax:
http://www.epinions.com/reviews/elec-Photo-Lenses-All-Sigma_28_200mm_F3_5_5_6_DL_Aspherical_Hyperzoom_Macro
I'm not sure if it's the older model as my father in law gave it to me and he had the pentax for a few years.
I want to know if this lens would be compatable with the Nikon D3000 or any nikon DSLR
other models i've looked at are:
-canon rebel
-sony A330 (costco currently has this one w/two lenses, the bag, and a 4g card for 500 bucks)
which brand would this lens work best with? I love using it so don't really want to replace it plus I'll still be using the pentax as a backup.

I'm into photography. I have a fuju finepix S2500hd (bridge camera) and i want to upgrade. I'm limited slightly by price but was wondering what's the best camera?
These are my favorites so far.
Nikon D5000
Sony NEX 5
Lumix G1
canon 500D
My price range is about 600 pounds.
I will use it everyday and probably want to get more lenses in the future. I take pictures of ever thing, animals landscapes macros, still life, so it will need to be well rounded.
