What are people views on the Nikon D5000?
I'm stuck between D5000, D3100 and the Canon 550D and 1000D. I don't need video, but I do need a variety of lens, I'm looking at shooting mainly wildlife, family and event. Not so much sporting or speed shooting. I have found a great deal on the Nikon D5000 & 18-55mm vr & 55-200mm vr & bag… Would this be the best option for me, it also allows me money left from my budget to put more into another lens?

Nikon D3100? Nikon D90? PENTAX K-x?
Which would be the best to get for my first DSLR camera? I have a FUJIFILMF72exr now but I would like something a tad more advanced with plenty of options, great features, and a wide range of exchangeable lenses. I would like a good amount of fps and pixels. I would like to be able to take good landscape photos and macro shots. If I should be looking at different brands I'm open to anything!

Would video look better on a projector than on a large computer monitor?
I'm a 14 year old wannabe filmmaker, and the camera I'm currently filming with shoots at 720p as opposed to 1080p. I want to make a feature with this camera (Nikon D5000) but am afraid about how it might look, should it ever be blown up to a 20 foot cinema screen (or possibly even larger), as while it looks fine on my laptop and my TV, displaying it on any computer monitor with a resolution larger than 720p makes it look terrible. My hope is that monitors and projectors display video in different ways, as there's a resolution the computer has to abide by, and with a projector you're just blowing up tiny images with glass and a light-bulb? Am I right in thinking this way? Really could use all the information you can give me…

I connected my camera with the usb cable… I copied and pasted the pics to another folder. It only transferred 75% of my photos.
when i viewed with a card reader, all the pics were displayed.
what's the problem with my usb cable?

AF-S NIKKOR 55-200mm

Christmas? (twenty characters)?
So for this Christmas, all I really want is a Canon T2i or a Nikon D3000, but I doubt i'm getting it because its expensive… Other than that I want a BaByliss hair straightener, and some OPI nail polishes. Thats it.
I feel like I don't really need the camera, so if I don't get that it will be easier to do what I was planning before: I want to spend as much as I can donating this Christmas… I feel really bad for the unfortunate kids, and coincidentally, our school is throwing a charity event for the Salvation Army where the kids come in to our cafeteria, and we can volunteer to dress up as elves and hand out presents! I was excited.
So what I'm asking here is: What do you want for Christmas? If you don't celebrate, what do you want in general for your holiday(s)?
Added (1). @ I Miss U- Room makeover! You'll get chances to go shopping all the time, trust me. Do you want a long term improvement or a short term? Clothes get old and out of style pretty fast these days lol

Can you use a Nikon D40 for stop motion?
I have a nikon D40 DSLR camera, and I've had trouble hooking it up to my computer.
At the moment i can hook them up and take a photo which then shows up onscreen, whereas what i want is to be able to hook the camera up to my computer and run it through a program like iStopmotion or photo booth or anything like that, with a live feed coming straight from the camera lens to the computer screen.
Is this at all possible, or am i barking up the wrong tree using this camera?

I'm thinking of buying the Nikon d7000 however?
Many people tell me buy the body only and skip the one with the kit lens, but what they don't tell me is if I buy the body only which lens should I buy. I would be using the camera for normal use nothing professional taking picture of family friends cars things like that. My budget is about 2500.
