Nikon D7100 continuous shooting?

I want to do a timelapse of the night sky. So I put my D7100 out there with settings:
30 seconds, f1.8, 18mm, iso 400, continuous shooting.
I then attach my cable trigger, press the button down and lock it.
This works fine for 100 photos, but Nikon's D7100 has a 100 photo limit. My timelapse is only 4 seconds with 100 photos. How can I make it go for longer? I've tried the built in interval meter but it's buggy sometimes and locks up the camera.

One for the digital photography people out there - Which camera would best suit my needs?

Basically I enjoy drawing and so I go to places like the zoo and wildlife parks etc, I have a compact digital camera and my phone but they aren't very good at taking pictures of animals that are at the back of their cages or in the distance and still have a level of detail I can draw.

So Id basically like my camera to be able to take good distance shots but also be good at general day to day photography as well.

As I've said above drawing is my thing photography isn't but I'm prepared to learn so Id like a camera that is easy to use (pref with an "auto" mode) however Id also like it to have some manual controls so I can learn as I go. Having a viewfinder isn't too important to me, Id like to not spend more than say £250 if possible and I don't mind buying a camera second hand, also it would be nice if it had a good lens built in so I'm not having to carry a load of photography equipment around (I have a 20 month old and she already has more than enough for me to carry).

I've looked and narrowed it down to these 3 models

Nikon L840 4/5
Canon Powershot SX520
Fuji FinePix S9200

Or is there one I'm missing?

Connect studio flash lighting kit to Nikon d3300?

I have a Nikon D3300 and I just bought a flash kit on ebay to practice with, but I don't have the right port to connect the wireless adapter to the camera. In fact, the jack port it has is for the mic. Can someone tell me how I get around this, please? Is there some sort of adapter I can purchase? The description had my camera listed as one that the kit is compatible with so was expecting to be able to plug in and go

There's some dust in my Nikon kitlens, how do I get it out?

It's not on the front or back, and it's not in my visor thingy. I've wiped those and the dust remains unmoved.

Best Nikon For My Needs?

Long story short… I'm hoping to advance from my regular digital camera to a fancy DSLR. I'm hoping to list a few points here and get recommendations, as I'm still researching for the right camera.
Since I've started looking, I've leaned towards Nikon, but any suggestions are welcome!

20+ MP.
RAW and JPEG shooting.
Photo and Video shooting.
Under $2,000.
Full frame or cropped.
High ISO.
Autofocus.
Long exposure (for night stars).
One with a variety of lens (for point and shoot, night, subject, landscape, and micro).

Not Necessary:

Wi-Fi.
Waterproof.
Mirrorless or not.
----

That's all I can think of for now. Feel free to share your photos and the type of camera you used!

Added (1). Auto AND Manual focus would be nice.

Do Dxo marks really have an impact on how good an image is?

I'm stuck between the Canon 100D and the Nikon D3300, and here is what Dxo says:

Nikon: 82
Canon: 63

Is this b/c of the 18mp vs the 24mp, because might print A4 or A3 size, max so will there be a difference? Also what one has the better kit lens? So what one can I take out of the box and get the better image ( I know it depends on the user, but still)?

Best Nikon lens at this price range?

Hi, I have a basic 18-55mm Nikon lens that came with the camera itself,

I spent my budget on a camera and a DJ controller, I don't have enough money left, So I'm looking for a new zoom lens for like $40.
