There's some dust in my Nikon kitlens, how do I get it out?
It's not on the front or back, and it's not in my visor thingy. I've wiped those and the dust remains unmoved.
What is your "visor thingy"?
Where do you see the dust?
When you look through the viewfinder? - If yes take off the lens and blow out the mirror housing with a rocket blower paying particular attention to the focusing screen in the compartment "roof". Be very careful, don't touch anything and don't use canned compressed air!
If no
Do you see it when you take the lens off the camera and look through it? If yes then a small amount of dust on internal elements is not particularly detrimental - just live with it. If there's a lot of dust then take the lens to a repair shop for professional cleaning.
If no
Do you see it on the photographs? Particularly noticeable when using small apertures (f/16, f/22)? If yes, The dust is on the sensor. You can clean it yourself but you really need to know what you are doing as it is VERY easy to do damage! If in doubt take it to a repair shop who will clean the sensor while you wait.
Pay someone else to do it.
