Getting into dslr video/photography, don't know where to start?

I have started to look at dslr's for a while now, but I'm still having trouble finding the right equipment. I will be covering paintball most of the time.

People recommend dslr's for paintball apparently because of the frame rate. I don't want a camcorder anyways.

First, I have read that I need a good frame rate, which points to Canon rather than Nikon. Those seem to be the two biggest names. I don't have a huge budget… Maybe $700-$800. The less I have to spend, the better. My friend said that I should look for a used 40d. I don't know if that's a good choice or not, so I'm still looking for some advice.

Secondly, the lens selection is important. My friend recommended a canon lens. I forget the size. I don't want to drop tons of money on one, but if I have to I suppose I can. The most important thing is that it is durable enough to last and get hit once in a while. I'll also have to get some uv filters to protect the glass.

As for a tripod, I think I will go budget on it. Seems like an accessory that doesn't need a lot of money put into it to work well.

Any info would be appreciated. I want to make my first purchases good ones.

Buying a DSLR camera for first time?

I want to buy a new camera… But here's the thing, I've only used cheap little digital cameras before (Kodak Easyshare 8.2megapixel), but I want to get a dslr camera. I'm still in high school, and I've never taken a photography class or anything, but I love taking pictures in my spare time. I've been researching a lot lately about different cameras, where to buy them the cheapest, etc. I found that Nikon has some nice starting cameras that got great reviews, but what else should I be considering?

I want to go into Best Buy one of these days and look at the cameras up close to see the features and discounts and such, but what kinds of specific things should I look for? What other cameras are great for beginners? Thanks for any help!

Added (1). My budget is TBD by a combination of how much money I have and how much my parents are willing to chip in… I would say $600 is the max, preferably between $400 and low $500's. If this is reasonable!

Is it my iPod charger that's messing up or it is my actual iPod?

So I've had my iPod touch 4 generation ever since January 1, 2011 and I use it practically all the time, so I have to charge it alot. In that time I've already gone through a charger, now I'm using one that I've had for probably about 3 months or so and for the past two days, the charger or battery or the iPod as a whole has been messing up and it's really starting to freak me out because I'm so attached to my iPod. At first I thought it was the charger, then I thought "Well I use it alot so maybe the battery is going dead" Which for me is the worst case possible. But I'm wondering if it's charging, but it's just not indicating it. Please please Please help me!

(for the record I use the "Nikon EH-68P AC Adapter wall charger, which seems to work but I'm not sure if it's safe)

Inexpensive good quality cameras?

My grandma has a nikon cool-pics and it is one of those "professional" cameras. I'm absolutely in love with the pictures it takes. I'm look for a camera like that for myself - but don't want to spend a lot of money. And the thing that makes me like the pictures the nikon takes is that the back round is blurry while the main focus is extremely clear. Any camera that will give me those results but is inexpensive?

under $200

Is this a very worth while camera?

OKay so right now I have a Nikon P100, that I like, but I find the photo quality is not want I'm looking for. I just started taking a photography class and I'm using my dad's old Canon TX. Which I found that I really love using. But I can't use this all the time, as I don't have a dark room and chemicals necessary. I know someone who takes amazing photographs and found out that he uses a Canon EOS Rebel XSi SLR digital camera. I was looking online about it, and I was looking at the newer versions of the camera and came up with the Canon EOS Rebel T3i Digital SLR Camera.

Here is this link: http://www.ritzcamera.com/product/EP128951457.htm

My question is, is the camera worth the 700 some dollars and if so, which lens would be best? I would mostly be taking pictures of nature…

Or do you have any other camera recommendations?
