Why doesn't Sony make cameras with Canon and Nikon mounts?

Is there any kind of law that prevents Sony from using other parties mounts? Sony has some amazing camera technology… Too bad they take Sony/Minolta lenses.

Ruger American Rifle with a Nikon ProStaff 4-12x40mm Riflescope, Matte w/ BDC Reticle?

So I was wondering if that is a good combination, since that will be my first rifle and I don't have alot of money. And by the way I'm getting 30-06 caliber.

Best digital camera for quality images, low light performance and speed?

I'm a beginner so I don't know if I want a DSLR or not.

I need a camera that:
- takes good pictures in low light
- very fast shutter speed (like a DSLR)
- good quality images (like a DSLR)
- pretty good video frame rate for recording sports in low light

Every time someone recommends me an ILC camera, after I obtain it, I begin to see too many cons.
I pretty much want a point-and-shoot that's much like a DSLR except I don't need an optical viewfinder, interchangeable lens, and all the manual stuff.

I know Nikon advertises low light cameras but what's the trade off?
Should I just get a DSLR?

Best of these digital cameras?

They all have their advantages. The panasonic is nice but doesn't have the greatest video capture. The fujifilm can shoot in RAW format. The nikon… Is a nikon lol. Which one is the best overall? Really looking for image quality here

Added (1). The Nikon P510 has a 42x zoom which is impressive but the camera's auto focus is a bit slow I hear

What kind of camera should I ask for?

I want to get into photography. So I'm going to ask for a camera for the holidays. Probably either a nikon or a canon. I don''t really know anything about cameras, all i know is that i want something that takes excellent clear pictures. And one of those cameras that looks really nice and professional but handheld. I'm not exactly sure how much they go for but probably nothing really over $250.So if you could list some links and prices to cameras that are kind of what i'm describing or cameras that i should look for would be great, thanks!

What are some good cameras? - 1

I really like the Nikon 1. I like that the lenses are changeable and that you twist the lens to zoom. I like how small it is and that it seems easy to use. I don't know much about cameras so that helps. I'm just curious if there are other cameras out of the market that are similar but better and/or cheaper. I don't know anything about all the specks. What should I be looking for in a good small camera?
