How much can a 18-35mm lens zoom in a crop sensor dslr?
In a full frame dslr it is 7.8x as on nikon.com
What photoshop is good to get for me?
I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 right now. And i've been using it for a couple years now. And i just don't like it. It's not that i can't figure out how to use it, it's that everything i want to do on it, doesn't work. For example, i have to convert all my raw files to.dng files because my photoshop doesn't support the Nikon RAW file (.nef)… And also what is really bothering me is the fact that i can't find my "actions tab".
I watch lots of photoshop tutorials and i have seen in alot of them that they have an action tab AND I Can't FIND MINE WHAT So EVER. I looked through everything in my photoshop and can't find it. So now i can't download any actions/effects (correct me if i'm wrong, but actions are effects right?)
BUT even IF i had my actions tab, evertime i try and download effects, it can never support the file. I looked deeper into my computer and found that it only supports.8BF files. And i can't find anything with that file type. I don't know if it's that i don't know what i'm doing, (i've only been using photoshop for like 2 years and i'm also inly 16… ) or if it's that my photoshop is just dumb. Or maybe it's my computer…
I don't know, so i guess i'm asking, should i get a new photoshop and what do you suggest i get? OR, if i've been missing something what am i doing wrong?
I'm relatively new to the 'photography scene', i.e. Half a year or so. I know I'd never bother to lug around a heavy DSLR so I picked a mirrorless camera (Nikon V1) as my choice. I've kinda picked out some of the better photos I've on flickr, representative of several genres and my optimal (I guess) level of photography?
Are they alright? If not, feel free to explain what changes I could make either during or post-photography? Thanks for your time.

1) Hmm yeah I can see how that's possibly distracting.
2) Haha yea I always seem to forget I've hands.
3) Yeah I precisely chose the composition because I felt the sky lent as much weight to the scene as the autumn scenery.
4) Ooh okay.
5) Yeah I think I undersharpened (by default I leave sharpening to zero for raw files).
6)Haha no I was just testing out lowlight capabilities of the V1 in a public aquarium setting.
Thanks for being so detailed, it really helps to have outsider opinion (don't think judging my own photos would be reliable).

Hmm okay.

The thing is, with the fountain tilt that both of you have mentioned, the base of it along the 'treeline' is actually straight. If I tilt to make the fountain straight, that would be slanted instead. Yeah I should prob have cropped the scene, just thought it'd lend more colour to the owl. As for the fish haha it was actually intended! I named the photo 'Outcast' on flickr!
Photography help. Canon Rebel T3?
I have a Canon Rebel T3 1100D. Is it possible to have the camera connected to a laptop/pc (with windows) through the USB cord that came with the camera and view the photos as I shoot them?
I was able to do this with a Nikon, but when I try with my Rebel, the camera flashes "busy" in teh viewfinder when i go to focus my subject and it won't even allow me to focus the lens. It allows me to take a photo while the USB is connected but I have the SD card removed. And this does me no good, because the photo isn't actually saved and it doesn't show up on my laptop.
I can however, unplug one end of the USB cord, take the photo, plug the USB back in, and the photo then shows up. And then, I still have to manually double click the file folder to open just to see what i've shot. C'mon. There has to be an easier way, but I'm at a loss.
My previous question about Nikon vs Canon I had a few choices in cameras. But now I'm needing to know the one to choose for the best quality I know they both have a good zoom option but I'm looking for a camera to take beautiful pictures.
Added (1). I'm not talking about compact cameras.
Added (2). I'm needing something that takes better outside pictures.
Added (3). Because I'm getting into the more professional aspect of photography.
Which DSLR can take still while shooting HD video?
I currently have a Cyber-shot Digital Camera HX200V and it takes stills while shooting in movie mode (about 10 shots/1 per sec-ish).
I was wondering if any of the higher end DSLRs (Canon/Nikon, etc.) are able to shoot in HD (720p/1080p) and are able to simultaneously take stills at a higher rate than my Cyber-shot.
How to hook my Nikon DSLR to my computer?
I'm sorry, I'm going to sound very stupid right now. I've noticed that some people have been able to hook their DSLR's to their computers in a way similar to a webcam (the only way I can explain it). How exactly can you do that? Do I need some sort of software, cords.etc? I have an iMac and a Nikon 3200.

Konova slider and Nikon camera D7100
I have just purchased Nikon d7100 from ebay and its on the way. And I'm planning to get a motorized camera slider probably from Konova k3 model.
As a beginner, I don't know which slider to choose "K2, K3, or K5". And I'm not sure which controler is best for me if i want to shoot timelape video or normal motion vido, and what are the extra accessory I have to include to fix my d7100 camera with the slider?
What are the hours for the box office at the NIkon at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, NY?
Someone is giving advice on how to get some One Direction tickets & she told me to get to the box office early. I don't know how any of these things work or where the box office is. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you
