Nikkor AF-S and AF-D - distance info in both?
RedStar
Do nikon AF-S lenses also give distance information like older D lenses?
Or no?
OMG I PONIES!!1
Yes, AF-S lenses also all have the 'D' feature.
The first website I could find to corroborate this was Ken Rockwell's: http://www.kenrockwell.com/...ek.htm#afs Not being a great fan of KR, I kept looking, and Thom Hogan's site also confirms it (AF-S is the new & improved AF-I, which is the new & improved AF-D.) See the gray sidebar on his page: http://www.bythom.com/lensacronyms.htm
