Nikon D2X no aperture settings?
I recently bought a used D2X and I have realized the dial to change aperture doesn't work.
On S (shutter speed priority) mode, the dial changes the shutter speed, as expected.
But on M (manual) mode, the upper dial is supposed to change shutter speed and the lower dial to aperture, but both dials only change shutter speed.
On A (aperture priority) mode, neither dial changes any setting. It's permanently set to Ff4.
Any help on solving this issue would be greatly appreciated!

Are canon 40d's smaller than nikon d200's?
Are Canon 40d's smaller than Nikon d200's? Which one is smaller and how smaller is it?

I'm looking at getting an additional camera to my Nikon D90. D700 and D800 are currently too expensive for me. The options I now have are D7000 and D300. They are on the affordable range for me. My intention is to expand professionally that is covering events e.g. Weddings, birthdays and other events. I might also cover studio photography as well. Can anyone please advise me on the options D300 and D7000. Which one would you recommend i go for?

What is the equivalent of Nikon D300, D700 and D800 in Canon?
What is the equivalent of Nikon D300, D700 and D800 in Canon?

I also just bought a Nikon D100 --- I have the T-ring and adapters, so am set to go. I'm having trouble finding the right aperture and shutter setting to give me a starting point for shots of the moon ---planets later. I'm 66 with bad eyesight and am tired of having to lug things back inside to see the settings buttons to try another shot --- flashlight doesn't make it Any body know where I should start, then I can work from there.

First lens for new Nikon DSLR?
I'm purchasing a Nikon D800, and I'm really confused as to what my first lens should be. I've been umming and ahhing over whether to go prime or zoom, and I've decided for my application, zoom seems more practical. I had come close to choosing the Nikon 28-300, as its reviews were quite fantastic. Wide apertures aren't the most important thing for me, as I rarely shoot in dark situations, and almost always use a tripod. The only niggle this lens presented me with was its widest angle. I'm currently using a crop sensor DSLR, and its widest angle is 18mm (therefore 28mm would give me the same field of view). I do a lot of architecture, landscapes, streetscapes, and anything in the city, and I frequently feel that a wider lens would be great.
Would it be a foolish thing to get something like the Nikon 14-24mm f2.8, before something a bit more standard like the 28-300? Would adding something like the Nikon 50mm f1.8 to the 14-24mm make it a bit more versatile? I know its a bit difficult to comment on because it comes down to the individual, but I always like to hear peoples opinions.

Nikon D800E with AF-S Nikkor 17-55mm /f2.8 - or Canon 5D mkIII with EF16-35mm /f2.8 L?
Nikon D800E with AF-S Nikkor 17-55mm /f2.8 - or Canon 5D mkIII with EF16-35mm /f2.8 L?
Added (1). " First, are you aware that the D800E is the model without the anti-aliasing (aka low-pass) filter? "… Yes, I'm aware of that. I did read the reviews and the look at the test photos.
In photoshop: Unsharp mask filter: Amount 200%, Radius 0.3, Threshold 0 the results are non the less impressive

How to change the focus point on Nikon D7000?
So my friend bought a new Nikon D7000 and he doesn't know hot to change the focus point to manual selection(default setting in AUTO). I read through the instruction manual(pg. 96) and it says that all I have to do is to push the focus selector lock(or something like that… ) from "L" to the dot then we can move it, but after I do that, the top LCD screen still says AUTO, so does anyone know how?
PS: I don't think that camera is user friendly… Switching focus point on my D300s is a piece of cake…
