I have the Nikon D3000 and I was wondering how can set the time longer for the camera remote.
It only allows like 2 secs.

any help?

I thought you set the timer in the camera and just use the remote to fire the shutter.

You can set the remote to fire as soon as you push remote button or delayed by 2 seconds. That's it. Generally, 2 seconds is enough time to hide the remote if you're in the shot. You can also bounce the remote IR beam off of walls which is another way to hide the remote.
