Looking for a photography school in the Toronto/Pickering Area?

I just bought my first DSLR camera. I have a nikon d3000, and i'm not so great at taking pictures. I know how to work most of the controls on my camera now, but i don't know what kinds of settings to use for what lighting, and how to get good pictures etc etc.
I'm looking for a credible photography school / course in the Toronto east or maybe even pickering area. I'm not looking for a course on how to use my camera, more so on how to take better pictures using my camera.

If you have any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated!

How to fix my Nikon lens?

The 18-55mm lens that came with my d40 are stuck. It won't rotate in either direction past the '55'. I don't have a warranty so i can't have Nikon fix it and i don't want to have them repaired (expensive). Also, not ready to buy other lens right now. When i try to rotate it, i hear a small clicking sound

Can i fix this myself?

What is the difference between a 55-200 mm VR and a 55-300 mm VR DSLR lens?

I'm looking at cameras for my boyfriend and can't decide which to go with - mainly because I don't know much about them. Right now I'm choosing between the Nikon 3100 18-55 mm VR + 55-300 mm VR, and the Nikon D5000 18-55 mm VR + 55-200 mm VR. He isn't by any means a professional photographer, but we're looking for something that will give us a crisp picture and that has a good zoom.

I know that usually the bulk of the cost is concerning which lens you buy. In this case, the cost is only a difference of $150. How much better is the 55-300 than the 55-200? I'm sure its worth the $150, but I'm just wondering what exactly the difference is between these two. I plan to visit a camera shop later this week, but in the mean time I'm just looking for some opinions concerning this.

Ya ya I know I'm another 13 year old girl asking for ideas for my christmas list. I already give most of the money I get for christmas to charity and I also volunteer on christmas and then go back home for christmas morning. So I really just need things to add to my list. I like to have a big list not because I need all of these things I just want to give my parents a lot of options for things because they said it would be helpful if I did. I would appreciate it if you didn't say general things like clothes shoes money gift cards etc. SPECIFIC THINGS Because if I was going to put those on my list I wouldn't be asking you all now would I. Ok so here is the list it also has links to the products if you wanna read more about them.

Should I leave my camera at home?

My fiance and I want to take our daughters to something called "ICE" this weekend.
Here is the website.http://www.gaylordhotels.com/gaylord-palms/best-of-florida-christmas/ice-experience/index.html?intcmp=gp-pl=herodd-cid-BOFC-palmshome

I'm wondering if it would be okay to bring my camera (Nikon d3000), or if the temperatures would do damage to it?

This is what their website says about it. Guests are welcome to bring cameras and take photos inside the ICE! Attraction. You can expect to experience a "fogging" of the lens when exiting from ICE! Into warmer temperatures. This, however, usually goes away once the camera warms up. Please check the manufacturer information regarding the cold tolerance of your camera equipment. Gaylord Palms Resort is not responsible for damage to any camera equipment caused by the extreme cold temperature.

Added (1). EDIT: The website says it's 9 degrees!
