I really need your guys' help picking a camera

Okay so I'm new to photography, but I really want to take some pictures with a awesome camera with amazing quality. I've been looking up cameras and i've been finding some nice ones, but i just can't seem to get one i really want. I found the Nikon D3000, and i really want it, or the Nikon D40 looks nice too.
So, what i'm trying to ask is what camera do you use?
Does it have good quality?
Would you recommend it to me?
How much was it? Is it easy to use?
I know alot of questions but i really need to find one that is good. Thank you in advance!
Oh and i have a budget of like $500 at most, looking for about $200-$300, though.

Why does the sky turn gray in my photographs?

Let's say the sky's more or less blue. Whenever I take a picture, it turns out grey like a storm! What causes this, and more importantly, how can I prevent it? I use a Nikon D3000.

Added (1). This one, for example:

It wasn't exactly a perfect day, but it was much more blue than that.

I have a Nikon D90 and use a wireless remote, but there's a beep that I can't turn off?

When my camera is in remote mode and I press the shutter with the remote it makes a loud beep after every shot and I find it really annoying. It doesn't do it when I press the shutter release on the actual camera though. I can't find any setting to turn the sound off, is it even possible? Or do I just have to live with it

Appropriate first dslr before upgrading to Nikon D3100?

Hi. Thanks a lot for taking the time to answer my question. (=
So the thing is, I've always wanted a Nikon d3100.Im 15 but still a major photography buff. I've been promised my first dslr by the end of this month. But I just realized that at the rate I use a camera, the brand new d3100 will get spoiled very soon.
So can you suggest a cheap dslr that I can buy secondhand or new just to learn the basics? I plan on selling it later to buy the d3100.
This way the d3100 can last longer.
I'd prefer it to be a nikon so I can keep the lens for the d3100. But I guess anything works.

Why does all the photos I import from my camera gets copied on to my pc twice?

So, everytime I import photos from my Nikon D40 to my pc, whether I stick the memory card directly into the pc or use the usb cable, each picture is imported twice. And the second copy of the picture can't be used for anything (Can't be edited on any program or uploaded on the internet) This is very annoying because I have to delete the second copy of each picture and stuff. Anyone knows why this is happening and how I can prevent it?

I took one picture but two photos comes out?

I'm having a Nikon D7000, using two 8GB Nikon's SD card. Every time i take a picture, two picture comes out. It doesnot show in my camera but when i put my SD card into my computer and view the photos, for every picture i take, the exact same picture all appear next to it and i have to delete it one by one. The more annoying thing is that afterter deleting all the extra picture, from a full 8GB SD card, it's now only use up less then 2 GB. It's eating my memory lol. What can i do about it?

Nikon d5000 and astrophotography?

Okay for a long time i've been debating about getting dslr… And i thought i loved regular photography… Well turns out i absolutely hate taking pics of people and landscapes and crap… My true passion is with micro-photography and especially astro-photography… Now as far as micro goes, i know what I need to get to do a fine job… But I in the dark as far as astro goes.

I know i need a decent telescope (would love some tips on which one I need… Please nothing over $500 (i know that's not a lot for a really nice one, but just something for beginners and what-not… Maybe i'll go up to $800 if its really good)

secondly i need a mount for the camera (guessing at this point)… And boom there i have it?

I need some help as to what I need to get the process done… And where I can find it, and how much…

Nikon D90 Installation Disc?

I have lost my installation disc for my Nikon D90. I can't upload pictures onto my Mac without it and was wondering if there's anywhere online I can download the software for free? I've tried looking around but have had no luck.
