How do I take pictures like this?

I'm new to photography. What is the best way to take pictures like this (time of day, camera settings etc.)?

As you can see it's heavily edited but you can still see the original picture through the editing. I only have a Nikon D5100, and adobe Photoshop to work with.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Why do my pictures look bad on my laptop screen but they look great on my cameras display?

So I got a Nikon D3100 with a 55-300MM lens. When I take a picture, it looks amazing on the display. But when I go to import them on my laptop, they don't look as good as they look on the display. I don't know why and I'm hoping that there's a fix because it really makes me feel down when taking photos knowing that they won't look good on the laptop. If there's any information that you want/need to know like camera settings that could affect this, I would be happy to reply

I use a Nikon D7000 to take movies

The on-camera viewer replays these movies perfectly. When I try to replay these on my computer they are jerky. The camera allows up to 30 frames per second. What can I do to be able to replay these movies on my computer without the "jerkyness"?

Added (1). The jerkiness is the same whether I have the *.mov file on the hard drive or the camera storage card. I have a self-built fairly powerful computer. The motherboard is a Z-97 Pro with an intel i5-446 CPU (3.2 GHz), 16 GB or RAM and lots of HD space. My OS is windows 7, 64 bit. I have a medium-priced video card - I don't recall the details (but could open up the machine and look if need be). As an aside, some of my granddaugter's videos play normally.

Added (2). I use the media player included in windows 7.

Will these lenses work on a Nikon D3200?

Tamron 28-80mm 27A Cf Macro? Then I have a Tokina 80-200mm lens. They both came with an old nikkormat I bought and also will the factory 50mm lens thats on the nikkormat work as well? I'm new to photography so I'm still learning a lot about this stuff.

Use a Nikon D1500 as a Mac webcam?

Is there anyway I can use my Nikon D5100 as a Webcam for my Mac for video chat or recording game plays? I want to save my self some money from buying an actual webcam. Or should I record microphone and screen separately from camera and then edit it all together and sync the mic audio with the camera video.

Best compact DSLR camera?

I currently have a Nikon D60 and I never want to bring it anywhere because of the bulky-ness. I have seen really nice compact fuji film ones but I wanted to know the best option for sleek and compact.
