The past 2 years I have been using my pentax k-x, and I'm wanting to upgrade as I'm going to be entering into a photography course, my budget is 3000 and I'm wanting a mid-level dslr… I was think about getting the Nikon d7000… Anyone have other suggestions? TIA x
Added (1). I'm aware that an expensive camera doesn't mean great shots. Much like a certain stove doesn't make a chef good. Here is a link to some of my photos, of course, they're not the best, But I haven't had any courses, which is what I'm wanting to do, to become much better. I use a pentax k-x with the kit lens.

I use a Nikon D40 and I want to enlarge some photos for a contest?
I was told I can't go larger than 8 X 10 because the camera has only 6.1 megapixels. Have I reached the limit of my camera?
Any ideas about pushing the limits of my trusty camera?

I need a new iPod since I have the old 2nd gen iPod touch with only 16gb. I only have about 1gb left on it and really want to upgrade to the new 32gb. But I also want a Nikon D5100 camera. So, I really can't decide. I'm thinking maybe the Nikon since I have an iPod and all I use it for is music, but I also want a new iPod since it would be cheaper than that Nikon. The Nikon would be about $750 and a new iPod would be $300.So please put in your 2 cents, thanks.

What features in a camera are the most important?
Used to have a Nikon D5000, now I'm camera-less and looking to get a new one.
Was considering a Canon Rebel T3i but don't know how they compare to other cameras…
Budget's around $1000, willing to stretch it to get a nice camera.
I'm not a professional by any means, but would like to be someday.
What things should I look for when choosing a new camera?
Added (1). I fell in a lake with my Nikon D5000 last summer. Have been saving up for a new camera ever since but was never overly thrilled with it, so am exploring other options.

What lens to use for wedding photography?
When shooting wedding photography what would be the best lens for a Nikon D3000? Best manual setting? And I have a external flash it's made by sunpak but i'm looking for something more professional?
Added (1). Please take note i'm looking for advice not negative feedback! I have done a few wedding so far but i'm looking to improve althought my work has been very satisfying for those i have provided my services for! I'm only looking into buying newer products!
Added (2). I'm not limited by anything i'm just setting goals, i have a website www.dyanacarrollphotography.webs.com, I use manual settings most of the time and i change things up constantly, I'm looking for more speed! I have shot a few weddings the images i provide to my clients they are very pleased with, but as I have learned everyone has their own style with photography, and how they take pictures with their choice of the use in camera brand, and editing. I use a Nikon D3000 with a 18-55mm VR Lens & a 55-200 VR Lens!

ViewNX 2 not converting D7000 NEF Photos?
Long Story Short.
I shot raw photos with my D7000 for a while now and View NX2 [Nikon's default.nef RAW photo application] would be the main program to convert them to jpeg.
However when I right click the photo > Output > Convert Files > Jpeg.
No action is done, not even the loading bar for conversions are showing up.
I have updated firmware on the D7000 and there are no updates for the viewnx 2 software.
Any help would be appreciated.

Are these good prices for these lenses?
$50 for a 50mm E Series F/1.8
$25 for OTOMAT SERIES-35 NIKON AI MOUNT 1:4 F=75-200MM MACRO LENS
$40 for NIKON AF 28-80mm D
These are all used lenses that I found on eBay.
Also what's the difference between AI and N/AI lenses? And will they work on my D3100?

Will a Sigma 17-70mm F.28-4.5 DC Macro HSM Lens autofocus on a Nikon D3100 body?

Group photo with a 50mm 1.8G lens?
I own a Nikon D3100 with a 50mm 1.8G lens, how can i take sharp group photos focusing on everyone?
the few times I've tried, the photo usually comes out focusing on one or two people but blur on the rest of the group. How can I solve this? Go further away?

I'm looking to buy a dslr camera and I have narrowed my choices down to the Canon EOS 550D, Nikon D90 and Nikon D5100. My favourite I THINK would have to be the Nikon D5100 from the research I have done. Help me decide please? And could you please give me reasons and pointers?
