Can the Nikon D5100 Camera Capture InfraRed?
I would like to get into infrared photography and currently own a Nikon D5100. I was wondering if this camera is capable of capturing infrared light? I'm able to see the infrared LED's light up on a remote control when the camera is in Live Mode. My local camera shop told me that the camera will not actually capture an image… Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks in advance!
Added (1). To clarify, the D5100 can capture infrared images if I purchase an infrared lens filter (which is what I would like to do)? Or are you saying that I will not be able to capture these images at all because of the infrared filter over the sensor?

I can't download any SD pictures into my computer?
All it reads is: " no pictures or videos were found " and i have pictures in the camera, the camera is a NIKON D40 and everthing was fine, I even plugged in the cable to do it as a different way but this does not make a difference, STILL NO READ, and I'm about to toss the computer away. I'm going crazy… CAN ANYONE Help ME Please… WHY IS THIS DOING?

How to trip my SB 700 flash to my Nikon d60 pop-up flash?
I just bought a SB 700 flash for my Nikon D60, and it works just fine, but the only problem is, i want to trip my SB 700 to go off when my popup flash goes off, but it does not seem to work? I checked in the manual, i have been doing everything right, i couldn't find any answer online either so id figure id try asking here! I have to set it to remote settings, i did that, and also tested out other settings but nothing seems to work to trip it with the built-in flash. Can anyone tell me how to do this properly?

How to put a Nikon D3000 DSLR camera into wide angle mode?

I'm buying a new SDHC card for my Nikon D3100 DSLR camera?
I'm struggling to decide between an 8GB card with a class four speed performance rating or a 16GB card with class two speed performance. I only really take photographs on my camera so bearing in mind that the speed of video recording doesn't matter much to me and the price difference between the two is only a couple of pounds, does the speed rating really make a difference to my photography?

I have just started to venture out using manual mode?
I have a Nikon D5100 and have been shooting in vivid. Is this a mistake? Or should I be shooting is standard?

Wanting to be a photographer, need tips?
So, recently i've devised a plan that i'd like to try out some photography. I plan on getting a nikon d5100 to start out with. I think it's a good plan due to my gramps is an artist and he could sell my work at his shows + we know a photographer in new york who is very close with us and has made milllion's already from it… So basically just some tips and let me hear about how much you love your job or hobbie. And yes i realize it can get expensive for camera's, tripods, lenses etc…
Added (1). Well everyone i see one answer that gives a good idea of the answer, and everyone yes my gramps sells his art so i know i could probably have him sell my art with his or hell get me a booth and the person from new york can help sponsor some of the art but i'm looking for several opinions of photographers and what its like for you out there who does the photography.

I just lost my camera while at camp and am trying to make myself feel at least a little better by buying a nicer one. I don't know all that much about cameras, but I love taking pictures. I'm looking to spend around $400-$500 on a camera that'll last about four to five years.
I'd like optional manual focus (is that something all DSLR's come with? If you can't tell, I'm a complete novice), and I don't want to spend a bunch of money on lenses (so if there's one lens that's great for most things, I'd love your preferences on that too).So far the one I've liked most is the Nikon D3100, as well as the D3200.
