I just bought a SB 700 flash for my Nikon D60, and it works just fine, but the only problem is, i want to trip my SB 700 to go off when my popup flash goes off, but it does not seem to work? I checked in the manual, i have been doing everything right, i couldn't find any answer online either so id figure id try asking here! I have to set it to remote settings, i did that, and also tested out other settings but nothing seems to work to trip it with the built-in flash. Can anyone tell me how to do this properly?

The pop-up flash of your D60 does not have the commander function, whereby the camera uses the pop-up flash to communicate with the speedlite via a series of flash pulses. In order to trigger your speedlite using the pop-up flash the way you've described, you need something called a peanut slave trigger, an optical device that will trigger a flash when it sees any bright flash of light. They are most often used to photograph lightning. The SB-700 doesn't have a PC sync terminal, so you will also need a hotshoe/PC adapter, both made by Wein and you can find them online or in any photography equipment retail store- check the yellowpages in your area for them, most large cities have at least one pro photography store.

I do not believe the D60 is capable of doing that. You need to find Commander Mode in your owner's manual of "Flash control" in the menus. If you can find that (which I don't think you can), you need to select the commander mode. This is also called "CLS" or creative lighting system.
