With the announcement of Nikon D5200, will D5100 become significantly cheaper?

I'm planning a D5100 between now and December… With the announcement of D5200 today, should I wait for the release of D5200 in December for a possible price cut on D5100, or should I buy the D5100 now?

Can you use Tamron macro lens for SLR on Nikon D3100?

I have the Tamron 572DN AF 70-300mm Macro lens and would like to get some more information if you can safely use it with Nikon D3100 DSLR. It looks like it doesn't auto focus and the image appears a little foggy when I take the picture on auto settings. Maybe you have an advice on the settings I should use? I just started my photo adventure and would like to gather some more information about my equipment.

Retrieving Pictures?

So my Nikon D3100 camera was stolen yesterday. Of course, I was always too lazy to upload the 700+ pictures to my computer. I don't want to accept the fact that all my pictures are gone. I did view the pictures from my SD card (I just didn't save them) and I was wondering if there was a way to retrieve these pictures without the card? It's a long shot but if anyone has any information that may help me it would make me a little less depressed about the situation.

Good camera for short filmmaking?

I'm looking for a camera with very good picture quality for shooting short films, sketches etc. I've been looking around on 'Which?' and other websites and though some seem very good, I wanted another opinion on here. As for the one's I've looked at, I've read up on the Nikon D7000 and Canon EOS 7D, which both seem like good quality and cameras and the kind of thing I'm looking for. My price range is from about £800 to no more than £1, 600 approximately, The main thing I want from this camera is high resolution and good picture quality. Also, very important that it's good for filming, as one of the issues with the Canon 7D seemed to be that filming used up a hell of a lot of memory, and it seemed to be more suited for shooting individual pictures. Anyway, let me know what your thoughts are, I'm very open to suggestions.

Beginner portrait photographer needs advice on lens for Nikon d3000?

I'm really getting into portrait photography (mostly just natural light photos of my kiddos). I'd like to take my portraits to the next level, but I'm not sure what kind of lens to get for my nikon d3000. I currently own the one that it came with, but the aperture will only go as low as f5.6 and from what I've heard a way to get better photos is a lens that can go even lower. What would you suggest?

Good camera strap for Nikon D3100?

I would like to invest in a solid camera strap for my Nikon D3100 that will be long enough to strap across my chest. (To avoid worrying about pickpockets when shooting in large cities.) The stock strap that came with the camera just isn't doing the job for me. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I took my nikon d3100 out in the rain? Worried something might be wrong?

Well first of all it wasn't pouring rain, just spitting. I had an umbrella and originally a bag cover the camera but not the lens. And I took that off… I was out for about 30 minutes and the camera didn't get too wet and I dried it off right after but I'm worried something happened to the lens.

So can it handle much rain? Do I sound good or should I be worried?
The picture seems a bit blurry! So I'm worried.

Added (1). Thanks, is there a way to fix this? I'm so not going to take it out in the rain again.

Should i sell my nikon fisheye that i got for about 50% off?

So the nikon fisheye i got (16mm) is ussually around 800 but i bought it in a new conditiion from ebay for about 350. Its still pretty new.

I don't use much because i have a d3100 that doesn't have the focus motor. I wanted to save up for a d7000 and then sell my d3100 and buy some lighting. I was thinking i could sell the fisheye for a bit more than i paid for it but then i don't know if ill ever find a deal like that again.people were selling the same fisheye for 500 and it wasn't new and come had cracks.

Should i just be patient and save up?

Added (1). I do use it but not as much as i want because i have to manually focus it. The main reason i want to get the d7000 is to use it more

Tips for tennis photography with Nikon D3100?

I'm going to a tennis event tomorrow (Nov. 4), and I need some tips for taking great pictures. I'm a tennis player and I play and train everyday for 4-5 hours, so I do understand the game completely. But I'm still a beginner with my Nikon D3100 and don't completely understand the settings I can put it in to take great photos of tennis! Also, the tennis court will be indoors, if that changes anything?
