For shooting a pictures, should i use Manual Focus & Auto Focus in Nikon D3100?
Hi, i just bought a Nikon D3100 + 18mm- 52mm Vr lens, i want to know for take a closer pictures ( macro photography ) should i use Manual Focus or Auto focus? What will different in result?
How to get more contrast in photos without photoshop?
I have a Nikon D3100, and it's my first DSLR and I'm still learning how to use a lot of the functions. I know how ISO, shutter Speed, and aperture works, and how stops work for the most part. However I find a lot of the time my photos don't have as much contrast as I would like, and I find myself playing with the "levels" on photoshop to give it a bit more contrast.
How can I up the contrast of photos without having to open them up on photoshop?

Hello… I have to connect my Nikon d3100 to my laptop to get a live view for my new project. But the thing is d3xxx cameras can't be tethered. So i have plans of connecting my camera to a laptop with the help of easycap. Do anyone knows about this connection? Does this helps to get live view clearly?
During summer i'm leaving to France. I love to take pictures and i own a Nikon d3100. I wanted to take that one on the trip but its too big and chunky. And i wanted to ask which compact camera would be an option for me. I would like it to have great picture quality and that it isn't too big or heavy. Right now i'm looking at the Sony cybershot dsc rx100.
Should I sell my Canon Power shot?
In 2011 I believe I bought a brand new canon power shot for about $500 or something, I can't exactly remember. However, recently I bought a Nikon d7000. I'm trying to decide if I should hold on to the power shot, or if there's no reason to. Any advice would be much appreciated, thank you!
Added (1). Also it isn't all that compact, the canon looks like a slightly smaller/ lighter dslr.
Should I take a good camera overseas?
Okay, I'm in a little bit of a pickle. I'm a senior in high school and our class is going to China for this travel club thing. I have a Nikon d5100, its a dslr camera with its standard lens. I'm just indecisive on whether i should bring it or not. It will allow me to take nice pictures and stuff, but i would have to be carrying it around most of the time and its pretty big.
Would it be better if i just brought a small standard digital camera?

I wanna use this camera for filming, but is there a manual way to make the camera FILM 1080p with 60fps? Or is it set to do 1080p at 24fps?
