New camera for amateur photographer?
I'm not sure what camera I should buy, I currently have a Nikon d5000 (that I'm now tired of) My family has used it and has managed to damage the camera so i need to get a new one anyways.
People say that I should buy the 5d mark 2 because it has full frame and with the 24-105 lens. This is indeed a lot of money for me but I can barely afford it. Is it worth it when I'm not really a pro photographer and only a hobbyist/enthusiast who is interested in learning and get better at photography. I know the basics of camera and know how to use shutter/aperture/iso properly. Would you say it is worth it since I can afford it, or should I buy a cheaper one more focused for novice/amateur photographers? If so, what would you recommend?
Btw I'm a student who is learning photography

I have a Nikon d3200 and recently got a Sigma 75-300mm lense When I attach it to my camera it will only work in manual mode which is fine⦠But I don't know if that is normal? Also when it is attached to my camera it won't let me change the aperture. Yes i did hold down the exposure compensation button and turn the command dial at the same time and it is not doing anything. Please help. I need to change the aperture my pictures are turning out way too dark. Also my flash will not work with the larger lense.

ISO, aperture, F stop - what is what?
I bought Nikon D5100, and this is my first DSLR. I've used Canon P&S for last 4 years.
So came here to know what are the basic things to know to shoot in manual mode?
Like when to set
ISO mode to low or high [and how much low or high ]?
when to set f-stop?
[and all other basic things which I forgot (or don't know) to mention]

I'm in a little bit of a dilemma here. I'm going on a trip soon, and I want a prime lens thats good in low-light to go along with my 18-55 kit lens. However, I also want that prime lens for portraiture use after my trip. I'm trying to choose between Nikons 50mm 1.8g and the 85mm 1.8g. I know the 50mm will be better for the trip, but it's already an included focal length in my 18-55.It's also a decent lens for portraits. I know that the 85mm will be better for portraits than the 50 though, and will allow me to have some more telefoto shots (since I'm using it on a crop sensor, its really 127mm) during my trip. Which should I get! Or If you have another lens suggestion for a Nikon d3200, my budget is about $450-$500

Best Wired Remote for D3100? W/ Manual Controls on Remote?
I've owned my D3100 for about 6 months now, and I've started to want to be able to use a remote more and more. The problem is, Nikons' remote: https://www.nikonusa.com/...eter).html doesn't seem to have too many functions for $35.
I was looking at this remote: http://amzn.to/...to/12pLS7l Which seems to have a lot more options on it. I'm not sure if it makes a huge difference there, but back to the original question.
What's the best remote I could buy for my D3100 that has some functions built right into the remote, and is programmable to some extent? I'd like to do several 30-second exposures to shoot things like stars and such, but obviously that's not really an option without a remote that you can tell to take several shots over a set period of time.
