Deciding on an entry level DSLR?

I'm going to be buying my first DSLR soon and I'm stuck between which to pick. I'm in between the Nikon D3100, Canon XTi, and the Nikon D40. If there are any others you could recommend that'd be great! Also: I want to start experimenting with concert photography, which would be the best to start with?

Added (1). I'm also considering the canon rebel t3

Amateur editing software?

I have always loved photography, but have only recently gotten my first camera (Nikon d3100) I have so many ideas for photos, but they require editing. I see beautiful edits on flickr and instagram and other sites ( I love lizmonster and irelandluke 's work), and I was hoping that you could recommend a software? Preferably not over $100, I'm on a rather tight budget.

RAW+F processed photos won't show in Finder via SD card?

I took some photos today with my Nikon D3100, I shot them in RAW+F… So I touched some up in the cameras Retouch Menu, now when I put my SD card in my Mac, the photos that I touched up aren't there… But every other photo is, what do I do to fix this problem? To touch them up, I used some of the filters, rotate, etc., *but I also used NEF RAW Processing.

What lens do you suggest for a Nikon d3100?

I have a Nikon d3100 and I use the 18-55mm lens it came with. I want a lens that focuses more on details, like dew drops and veins in flowers, ( a macro lens?) and a lens that has a strong enough zoom to be able to take clear shots of the moon, and other distant objects. I was looking at the Tamron 70-300mm Di LD Macro Lens w/ Motor 3 Piece Kit for Nikon D60 D40 D3100 on ebay ($189 - is that a good price) but I've read some poor reviews on Tamron lens. What lens do you suggest that fit my specifications?

How to I get clear images with my nikon d5000?

So I'm in school for digital photography. Last week my teacher was talking about getting clear enough pictures that you could zoom in and see stuff as eyelashes but said he's not getting into that this class. When I zoom into my pictures close enough to the eyelash it just gets blurry. How do I make them that clear?

My photos lose resolution on change of lens?

Earlier I used two lens for my Nikon D3100, one which is the kit lens of 18-55 mm and another Nikon 55-200 mm. I sold my 55-200 mm lens and bought one Sigma 18-200. What I found next that my photos on my new lens has lost resolution of nearly 25% of what I would earlier used to have on my earlier two lenses. I suspect it is the obvious result of compromises I should be prepared to accept on a super zoom lens. Is there any way I can solve this?

Teens: Which would you get FIRST?

So I'm torn between a THING I really want and a PET I really want. The thing I really want is the Canon Rebel t4i! I'm not THAT into taking pictures, because I've never really had a 'professional' camera (one that costs over $400). I always use my iPod. The reason I'm kind of iffy on this thing, is because I really want the pet PLUS my moms roommate (and mine, technically) has a Nikon d5100 that he says I can use whenever, so if I do really need to use a camera, I know he will let me use his.

The pet I want is a hamster. I know this might be weird cause I'm 14, going on 15 in November, but I've never had one. I've owned a gerbil when I was really little, but I don't remember much except I wasn't responsible and my mom wasn't any help, so the poor little guy lived in a Kritter Keeper and only had a food bowl and water bottle (I do believe) and the bottle leaked like crazy so I think he got sick and died… Anyways, now that I'm responsible, I know I will take GREAT care of this guy. I won't get him until I have at least $500 saved up (including $200 for emergency vet bill money). I will also use my own allowance for his bedding and food. I get $80 a month so I know I'll definitely have enough plus I might even get him an extra new toy or two.
Another bit of info about wanting a hamster: I have a cat, but the thing is, the place I'm living at now already has two cats (since my mom and I have two other roommates, one for each of them) and I know my cat won't get along with them so he has to live at my grandmas. I terribly miss having a pet to take care of, that relies on me, which is another HUGE reason I want the hamster.

So anyways, after all that information, which one would YOU get first in my situation? I'm definitely eventually going to get both, it will just take a long while since I have to wait until November just to get one.

Added (1). How does wanting a pet, but also wanting a camera say anything about me not being ready? I'm more than ready for a hamster. I just really want something else, too. Like I said, I'm going to get both, eventually, I just don't know which to get first, so I'm not 'debating' which one to get. Since I'm definitely getting both.

Added (2). @LocoCoco - You're the second person to ask me that. One of them is my best friend… YES, people take hamsters to vets. I hate when people ask that. You take cats or dogs to vets to, right? Hamsters aren't any less living then a dog or a cat. You don't just let the poor little guy suffer.
