SLR camera with characteristics for taking HDR pictures?

I'm beginner, but I need a camera réflex digital with the characteristics to take HDR potos, meaning with different exposure levels. I understand that there are different characteristics for doing that (autobracketing, shutter speed, F-stops, remote control, etc). I don't want to buy something so specialized since I'm beginner. What I've seen so far: Nikon D5100, or Canon Eos Rebel T4i. Any other suggestion?

How important is image stabilization for shooting video using DSLRs?

I have researched a bit more since my last question, which was mainly, what camera I should get to start serious filming with. Now I have come across a few models at different prices like, Nikon D3200, Nikon D5200 and the classic D7000, which all seem to have autofocus for video, although I reckon I would still have to buy a good AF-S lens for them… And then I see that their common weaknesses include "no image stabilization"… So it may sound silly but, what difference will image stabilization make to photos or video? Why is it that plain digital cameras have image stabilization and the newest or high-end models of Nikon don't?
How would I deal with lack of image stabilization, if I bought any of those? I'm still thinking about it, because they have a lot more pros than cons regarding video.

Would the Nikon 18-200mm VR or the Nikon 18-105mm VR serve me better?

Planning on purchasing the Nikon d7000 which will be my first DSLR. The one from Costco comes with the 18-200mm VR II lens and is more expensive. The other kits I've seen come with the 18-105 mm lens.

My main uses with the camera are close up & macro flower and nature shots as well as landscape and family use… Hopefully to capture some nicer looking portrait shots of my kids as they're out and about. However they don't sit still for very long so the use of zoom & action may be needed as well.

Which lens would serve me better? The 180-200mm or the 18-105mm?

Any further advice on cameras or photography would also be appreciated!

Nikon D3100 Black Screen Issue?

I'm having issues with the monitor display. I'm wondering if it had anything to do with a cord I plugged into an outlet that plugged into the camera's AV out slot because I got a little curious the other day.

Pretty much everything on the camera works fine such as the flash, changing of picture settings, shooting pictures and some other things. But when I switch to video I see in the view finder it's saying error on the bottom. I hear it switch to video mode but switch immediately back. So essentially the camera works fine except for the monitor is blank and the video mode doesn't work.

I'm thinking it may have something to do with the source of the camera, as I plugged a AV cable into it, and I'm just thinking it may think it's still plugged into another device so the monitor doesn't want to display. But I pretty much have no idea, that's just my assumption. I'm shooting a feature length documentary in about 3 weeks and I was gonna use this camera, Please help as it's incredibly important.
