What things should I keep in mind after I get a camera?
I've been interested in photography for a very long time. Recently, I got an used Nikon D5100 from my cousin, but I'm not sure about how to take care of it. Do you have to replace lenses? How do you clean the camera? Please give me some tips and things I should look out for.

Indoor conference photo shoot backlit problem with my Nikon?
I was at a 30' x 40' conference room (incandescent light) shooting the panelists, however the big open window behind some panelists allowed too much light so they come out all dark, except the window is bight and overexposed. I'm using Nikon D90 with 18-200mm 3.5, with SB800. I tried different ISOs and tilted my SB800 to different directions but the panelists still came out dark and grainy.
What did I do wrong in settings? What are the correct settings?
Your professional advice is greatly appreciated.

Hi. I have a Nikon D40x. Basically there was a great moon last night and I wanted to take a picture of, but when I went outside to take it the camera wouldn't focus and I was left frustrated. I'm in a great part of Ireland where I can take lots of great pics, but need advice on lenses etc, and good quality as well. Can anyone advise please? Thanks for your time.
Added (1). Also if you can explain on how to use the sensitivity and shot speed please!

Nikon D5100 focusing issues - intermittent problem?
When this happens I thought I'd try to switch to manual on the lens, but I can't the toggle button will not budge. Also, I get either r08, r24, r200 showing up on the bottom right of the screen. My card was empty, lighting was great. I got the camera end of January, and all was well until the beginning of March. I reset the settings to the how they would have been when I first bought the camera, but this didn't help. I have read this a buffering thing, but why now and not before. I'm using the same card I always did. Just want to know if it's some setting or if I need to bring it to the doctor?

Wide angle lens for a Nikon D50?
I have a Nikon D50 and am looking to buy a (more than likely used) wide angle lens. I'll be shooting music events-- think raves, music festivals, clubs, etc-- so a faster shutter speed would be good. If someone could help, that would be amazing! I'm trying to get an internship.

Nikon D40 help (how to turn off flash in portrait mode)?

Making the next step in telephoto lenses?
I'm currently using a Nikon D7000 with an 18-105 kit lens on it. I have used the 70-300VR on it many times as a close friend has one and we share lenses all the time. The problem I find is that I don't have enough reach on the 70-300. I'm very into sports and nature, specifically birds, photography. I have thought about a teleconverter but I'm not convinced about it yet. I'm not sure what kind of budget I'm looking at yet, but I have been looking at the 300, 400 primes, or the new 80-400 (possibly with a 1.4 teleconverter), or the 200-400. I know these lenses vary in price A LOT, but what are your takes on these lenses or combinations.
My only other concern is that some lenses are f/4s, so would they still work with my D7000 when combined with a 1.4x teleconverter? I know some don't autofocus at f8 on certain cameras, but would it still work? The 80-400 looks to be pretty nice considering it is fairly new, but would it still work on my D7000 with a 1.4x teleconverter? I'm not really good at figuring out the aperture when combined with a teleconverter. Any info is appreciated.
